Considering breaking fzs600
« on: 13 April 2014, 02:30:04 pm »
Hi guys
Just had my frame wheels, swinging arm and both stands powdercoated and am just not happy with the results. I seriously want rid now. I have loads of bits so I'm just gauging interest and prices really.
I paid £200 +p&p for an engine with 25k (never fitted)
£160 for forks from a 2002 fzs.
There's a seat like new
All plastics
Standard downpipes,...
Tank with a dent
Headlight
Front fairing
Micron tail pipe
Standard tail pipe
Lock set plus 1 key
New battery never fitted
Rear undertray
Front calipers
Rear caliper
Any offers / thoughts appreciated

What's wrong with the powder coating? If it's really bad why not send it back? It seems a shame to go that far and not finish it. A few pics would help

Front wheels not bad the back wheels got pinholes in it everywhere and the frame( which was rusty as hell to start with ) has bits that has been missed and holes that have been exposed,..some of which ain't the guys fault I know. Stands are ok and front wheel is ok but he says he's going to touch them up with spray paint which I'm not really keen on,..just want to bin it tbh,..sad I know.

Does it only need a frame and rear wheel then? You'd get a frame on here cheap enough.

Cost wise it doesn't make sense for me to throw any more at it. I have my eyes on a cbr anyway. So damage limitations with the fzs and gonna get something else.

Was the swingarm powdercoated black? If so, I'm interested, even if it's not been well done.

Pity to hear things have gone tits up for you though, it's incredibly frustrating.

Swingarm was meant to be silver but turned out to be a dullish grey. He says he's gonna try to jazz it up with a clear coat but I'll prob tell him not to bother. Will get some pics up later for those that are interested.

Sorry to hear that you're so disillusioned. I'd be interested in the seat if price is right and you'll post? pm would be good if possible.
