Yeah... I'm not entirely sure how that worked when Avon was around if I'm honest. Avon as a county was abolished in 1996

According to Wikipedia (so it must be right, eh?) bristol County is a ceremonial one (presumably as opposed to an administrative one) so could happily exist alongside Avon/Somerset /Glos...?

Sounds about right - I think it has Administrative clout now though? In any case, it was a County border hahaha :P

Should have taken a photo of the South Glos sign :P

With the state of his acting, would it make any difference if he was dead?

It gets really complicated when you get to Bath, its a city and has its own county made for it as well, BANES, Bath and North East Somerset.

For some reason people like destroying this sign post :\ Google Street View can back me up :P http://goo.gl/maps/uOeap

Lol! I was just wondering if the "City and County of Bristol" sign was still in place next to Ashton Gate.

The Council deliberately put of them up in 1974 when Bristol's Charter (defining it as a County) was withdrawn, one year after we'd celebrated 600 years of being a City and a County :(

To clarify, is this only bridges that carry rail tracks or does it include bridges that go over rail tracks? The term "rail bridge" can be used either way imo

Interesting, I'm unsure of the semantics but I meant a bridge that predominantly carries trains. I suppose a model railway would cover that requirement as well...
