I came down the M11, round the M25 and onto the M23 yesterday and the number of tw@ts who hog the middle lane is unbelievable. Worst offenders believe it or not were BMW's.
On several occasions I overtook a BMW using lane 3 then moved over to lane 1 for the next couple of miles only to find the BMW had finally caught up with me just as I was about to overtake the next thing in lane2. Feccin BMW went past me then didnt go into lane 3, just stayed behind the next braindead feccer in lane 2 whilst I went past them both in lane 3.
So what I can hear you saying. I had cruise control set to 70ish and was going a constant speed all that time where they were playing around with their speed and getting nowhere.

It's not the exhaust noise that is the problem, it is the wind noise from the wind going around your helmet.

Well I cannot think of a subject and as I thought Purplebears picture was better than my own, Purplebear can decide on the next subject all by himself.
Well done PB.

The thermometer in the car just said 33 but they generally aren't that accurate when heart soaked in the sun. Gatwick is quoting 29 at the moment. Similar predicted for tomorrow. One of my lads is meant to be playing in a rugby tournament tomorrow morning and the other in a league game in the afternoon. Going to be hard work for them both!
As for the rain in jock land, thats not rain. Its the tears of the rugby fans!

1973 Austin All Agro 1500 Super.
Wrote it off by reversing into the neighbours daughters MG Midget. All it did to the MG was bent the tin badge on the bonnet!

about the training and make it an offence to not move over. Make trucks ony use the roads between 10pm and 6am. Increase the speed limit to 80 or 90 but, like in France, reduce to 70 if the roads are wet Put more traffic police on the road to enforce the new laws.

Rob, it was set to 70 back in the day that the average family car wouldn't do much more than 80-90 flat out and dstopping/steering at that speed was a bit dodgy to say the least.
The average car today will happily cruise at 90+ and stop quicker and steer safer at speeds well above this than cars did from 50mph when the 70mph limit was set. Officially it was set for "fuel economy reasons" and as a result today, many people shoose to drive slower still now that fuel is £6+ a gallon. My view is as already said by Rob, set the limit to 80mph and some will drive at 90mph instead. I know I normally push the limit a little to make some progress. On a short journey, an extra 10mph will make little difference to your arrival time, but over say a 100mile journey, the difference between 70mph and 80mph makes 10 miutes differnce in the journey, 20 minutes if the speed was 90mph. Lets do as in Germany, unlimted away from built up areas and 70 around sities where traffic is heavier or like France, 80mph normally but reduced to 70mph if there is spray.

Where is the "run a little kitchen and bathroom fitting business whilst waiting for the right job to come along mixed in with frequent trips to the land of the Frog to get the place ready for the 50th Birthday bash" option?
