Like a muppet I got confused when undoing the oil drain plug and ended up tightening it not loosening it.
Yes I have split the casing.
is there a fix, or is a new case?

After looking at all the other lists on this subject

I have a question, I have just ordered another switch, would drilling a pilot hole in the underside help to drain out moisture and filling it with WD40?
What about wrapping it in cling film?

Are there any other suggestions or mods ?

« on: 17 October 2014, 07:00:54 pm »
My bike is running like a bag of s##te
At normal speeds it is ok but at motorway speeds
the engine is like it is stuttering
no power
power even drops off
you start off with a full fuel tank and it drops down fast, when you open it there is a fair vacuum

at the moment I am tuning in the carbs and building a balancing tool, to check the balancing
all my local garages are not interested in looking at it

What do I need to look at and do???

you can tell a happy biker by the flies in his teeth

Silk inner gloves do work
last year I bought a pair of armadillo gloves which help with the cold
as to getting wet, sorry but no idea as I always end up with wet hands when it is raining
this year for the first time ever, I am trying heated gris.

good luck in the hunt
I would be interested to find out how to keep dry hands

« on: 04 October 2014, 01:17:26 pm »
Is there anyone in the Manchester area that can set the carbs up, or know of a garage that can, cheaply
As far as I know they are balanced, just need the fuel mixture setting

My bike has been running s##t for a few weeks so have looked at all the usual faults
this time checked all the jet holes and all the pipes, checked the pilot screws and got s###wed

An update
this morning I noticed that when I rev the engine, black smoke comes from ghe exhaust

FZS600 Fazer / Re: carb inlet rubbers
« on: 13 September 2014, 03:18:38 am »
just tried running it in my break and no arcing from plug caps

FZS600 Fazer / Re: carb inlet rubbers
« on: 13 September 2014, 12:54:29 am »
fuel filter, air filter both ok
fuel tap ok
all pipes ok
I did look at 1 of the plugs and it was ok, could not get the second one out so gave up

I only started all this work cause it was running bad and it is still the same

So I will try to see if rubbers are leaking and if arcing from plug caps

Any more suggestions?

Fuel filter is ok
I will try the water to see if they are leaking.
A biker I met today said it might be the ignition coils

FZS600 Fazer / carb inlet rubbers
« on: 12 September 2014, 06:57:09 pm »
I am after some help
My bike is running on kangaroo juice
I have cleaned out tank, cleaned carbs, oil and filter change.

The symptoms and motorway cruising speed it is stuttering, at fast acceleration there is no power and it even slows down.

I have been told it could be my carb rubbers that are leaking as they are cracked,

Could this be the problem, I was going to try sealing them and wrapping tape round them, alternatively new ones are £70.
I have been looking at other topics on the forum but still need help

Any advice

General / Re: Winter Gloves
« on: 09 September 2014, 07:08:51 pm »
I bought a pair of armadillo gloves with the 2 fingers
they do work, especially with silk inners
to top this off I have just fitted heated grips, to be realy cozy

I need some help on this topic of tyres
I need a set but unfortunately I cannot afford a lot of money
any advise on what to get?
I was looking at nankings, then found out they sre teflon tyres, nonstick.
