My bro did the Gold Cup race at Scarborough at the weekend
« on: 16 September 2015, 09:15:43 am »
He had a belting weekend, qualified 3rd  for his race and overtook Ryan Farquhar to lead it for a while!(No. 47 in the pic - Ryan is on pole on the Harris Yamaha 1200 No 77)  He said coming onto the straight in the lead with the spectator lined track and all the camera flashes was awesome.

Did well in the Senior where he lined up with McGuinness, Dunlop, Harrison etc it was immense.

The orange bib was because it was his first time at Scarborough for the gold cup - his first time at the circuit so was really good to do as well as he did.

Eagle eyed folk might remember my bro's bike he built from a 6 page spread in Performance Bike magazine a few months ago.

That place is as mad as a box of frogs
I rode around it at normal speed and scared myself senseless. God knows what its like at racing speeds
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

I seen your bro racing, and for first time round he was flying ! There was a lot of newcomers there last weekend and all smashing it !
I have drove around the mount a few times, never rode round though :( !
I'd love to get a sportsbike, pull some balls and skill from somewhere and go round the track!

Try a few track days, you don't have to be on the latest bikes to enjoy them, we were at Cadwell lapping an old CBX 1000 every other lap but he still had a good time (really big balls that lad) Just be honest with yourself re your ability and start in the slow group and work your way up and you get more confident.

Cadwell's bloody scary for the fist few laps, most bends are blind so your just aiming for a piece of track you can't see. And the mountain messes with your head the first time you go up it. All you can see on the way up is sky, strange to open the throttle with no clue as to where your going.

Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

Your brother was keeping some good company there. As a spectator the buzz I get is great, as a competitor weeeeeeeellll would have to be better than shagging.lol
