If it is a blocked air vent how can i sort that?
Will riding it steady round a car park or something solve the problem ??
Sorry if that's a stupid question ? :/ ha

Hmm I will look into that idea cheers Freck.
Yeah definitely gonna change fuel filter. And air filter still too.
Hopefully changing the fuel filter will rectify the problem.

You killed your bike?  :eek

Haha I thought I had, the tank came on and off 3 times thinking I had missed something.  Followed by a mini panic running up and down the drive trying to bump it then it started.  Lol
It ran spot on to Donny and back, about 50 miles.  Then I filled it up cos it waw running low and it started running dodgy again ...
So I think I need to give the tank a good clean perhaps and change fuel filter ?? :/

I had the tank of this morning and checked the air filter. It's absolutely fine ..
But it's not been out since last week and I'm just nipping to donny so will see how it fairs.
I had a bit of trouble getting her running after.
There was no life at all and after taking the tank of and refitting it incase I forgot something I had to bump it off. That normal? Just to get the fuel circulating again ??

arrrr I have had the same on my bike since I made a small mistake by filling up with diesel not petrol!!
I had it drained & cleaned but seems like I need to check the air filter!

only happens at bout 80 ish so will check it out, thanks

Filling with diesel ?! Gutted mate.
Guessing you was just in auto mode and didn't think til it was too late. :/

It's quite amazing the amount of people that turn up with track only bikes these days!

Iv been and watched a few track days in the last year and I thought the same.
IF ..  I ever go on a track day I was just gonna go on my bike and buy some new tyres at end of day.
But seeing everyone turn up on track only bikes and looking like pro's made me re think! Lol

I assumed it was down to cold tyre for your brother. Seemed to be waiting a long time to get waved off..
Watched your vids now. Top stuff! It's good watching everyone else fly ahead on the straights as soon as the corners in site you out brake and manoeuvre them!
2.18 lap time is good too, not to far behind shakey ;)
I really do need to pull my finger out and get a track day done. :/ haha ...
What you mean by drop the forks by 15-20mm through the yokes this helps the turn-in .. ?? Think I may be monging it?

Sounds to me like you're getting intermittent fuel starvation, maybe a fuel filter clogging up or some crud has got into the carbs. I've had similar symptoms before with a gunned up filter.
You say you'd just filled it up, was it really empty? Could be some crud from the bottom of the tank been disturbed if it was really low on fuel.

Steve

Hey Steve ta for your reply.
Yeah it was pretty low to be fair, I was thinking along the same lines as you.
I'll try a bit of carb clean for now, then when I get paid il change the air and fuel filter hopefully that will cure it and then some :/

Yeah I have read through your subject and Grizzlers to see the similarities and what yous did to sort it.
Air filter seems like the obvious 1st thing to check, and best excuse to treat myself to k&n.. going rate seems to be 37quid on fleabay.  That sound about right ?

I did wonder about the air filter. I haven't checked it, but was thinking while I did I could replace it with a k&n??

I was out on the bike over weekend and on two occasions with on 5 mins I felt a weird loss of power.
The 1st time I had gone through the gears at a normal rate and in 6th at around 80mph the bike began to feel like it was struggling.  And started making a noise,  the only way I can describe the noise would be like if you was pulling of in 1st gear and don't give it enough revs.
I tried to power through it, which made no difference so I pulled over. I revved the bike up a few times and decided to take it all way through the rev range but in a steady manner. .
It went fine up until 6th when at about 8k revs the bike seemed to have a complete loss of power. Shoving me forward, to be honest I shit myself thinking I was gonna go through the fairing! Lol
It was only quick tho, a split 2nd as if I had just dabbed the brake on .. which I hadn't!  Lol
After that it ran fine so iv been racking my mind wondering what it could be. I had just filled it up and thought maybe a bit of shit clogging something up then clearing?  I'm going to buy some carb clean to try rule that out? Anyone else got any suggestions please?

Awesome vids SGP, I've only managed 2 cos my data's dodgy on camp ..  gutted for your brother in the 1st one, he didn't even make it round the 1st corner :/ how was he and the bike?

I really want to do a novice track day but had so much on these last few months iv not even managed to get myself some leathers yet.
I'm thinking of doing one of these Ron Haslam track days at Donnington.  They supply the kit and I'll learn something too.

This weekend was mostly spent getting my knee down ;)

Or not with them chicken strips.
Picked the bike up from my parents on way to see the misis for dinner and I kept hearing a weird banging when I went over bumps,  luckily I was 5mins from home so moaning to myself and thinking it sounded expensive I was working out how much I could afford to spare this month .. (£4.67 and half a pack of chewy)
I was very relieved to see it was just my hugger. The 2 bolts on the chain side were missing ..
I cleaned my chain last weekend so guessed maybe the chain lube helped the bolts vibrate out? They war definitely there before I set of cos I always give bike a little once over before I go out.
Put some new bolts in with a touch of loctite  should solve that problem.

Not very exciting  ... just thought I would share. Lol

Very sad indeed. ..
You would have hoped after his bad accident and being in coma last year he would have thought twice about his come back this year ..
But saying that, no accident has stopped the  likes of Hutchy and Connor.

Yeah I'll try a few pretend ones, what you got ;p ..
Haha Most mags focus predominately on the boring 'road racing' MotoGP .. and the events like Tandragee and Cookstown get a page at the back when it's loads better. .

Lol all iv really brought here is an ongoing dispute with my brother who absolutely lives for MotoGP.

I'm going to subscribe to one but can't decide which and wondered if anyone here read them and what there views were.
Over time iv bought both Road Racing Ireland and Emerald Road Racing a few times each and personally think RRI is probably the best choice.
Anyone have any different views?  Or is there any other road racing mag iv missed and could be worth a look?
I thought I'd best subscribe to one mag and just get it sent to me rather than walking to the shops and leaving with 20quids worth of mags. Lol

Hey when I passed my test I was taught it's all about the front. The rear brake is only for slow maneuvering. .
When you have to do an emergency stop the fronts got all the stopping power and as soon as you stick it on all the weights shifted to the front, so the rear brakes not really doing much.
I was taught the same for wet too .. Although i had to do an emergency brake at 60 odd mph myself the other day iv never had to do it in the wet over 40mph but id say the same applies ... just remain extra vigilant .. it's all you can do really.
