I had a free sat box after I got rid of sky. Plugged the same sky cable into the freeway box and it picked up all the freesat channels straight away, no messing.

^^As above, I got a Humax Freesat box.

The use of the Americanese word gotten.
So, I've gotten grumpier over the years for sure.

Most American words are ours, just after the founding fathers colonised the US, our english evolved into what we hear and use today, they didn't have the same evolution hence the difference pronounciation of the same words, tomato v tomato

I know.

100 Nm is correct, (boxeye is 60Nm) for the sprocket. Buy a torque wrench you need one to tighten the spindle too!

I used tyreleader recently for a new set of alloys for the car. Very good price, delivered in perfect condition and delivered earlier than expected. I'll use them again.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Renthal bar
« on: 18 June 2015, 09:54:37 am »
Thanks guys, how about low rather than ultra low? I read something (I think it was the old forum) where the poster thought it was a better riding position. My worry is I'll end up with a similar bar to what I have now, it feels like my elbows are stuck out and that I can't push the bars? :(
I'll be looking at the filing and tape method for fixing the switch gear.

FZS600 Fazer / Renthal bar
« on: 16 June 2015, 03:09:32 pm »
What Renthal bar is the closest match to the stock? I'm currently using an almost flat bar and I can't get on with it. I also can't compare to the original bars as they are no more.

I'd get one of these; http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzs_600_fazer_sp/02-03/picture/sprocket_front_-_jt/ and don't forget to buy a tab washer too!

« on: 17 March 2015, 02:49:39 pm »
I saw them playing at Liverpool Uni in about 1980. They had a packed and enthusiastic audience, but the band soured the whole atmosphere by obviously not wanting to be there. They had a massive chip on their shoulders about further education and didn't like that they were playing a venue full of "overprivileged, elitist" students with no "townies".

Odd, I saw them at Sheffield Poly they didn't seem to have any problems with us.

I saw they were touring, I had been thinking about seeing them again, glad to see that they are still worth going to see! I first saw them 1978/79 at Bridlington Spa and again in Sheffield in the early 80's (twice I think), a great band in their day. I'm going to see Simple Minds in 3 weeks time!  :D

FZS600 Fazer / Re: fitting kph clocks
« on: 03 March 2015, 09:31:29 pm »
My bike had kph clocks when I bought it. It had stick on mph numbers on the clock glass, I hated them. I got a uk spec set of mph clocks off ebay, they plugged straight in no problems and read correct mph. Still got the kph clocks, I think they had around 14000km on them.

Good solution to the speedo drive issue!

Thanks for that Kebab, I can't remember where I got my dimensions from, though they must be wrong. Your bike looks spot on from the pictures you posted. I'll have to do a bit more research. :book

Is that with the forks from an R6 5eb? I was looking to do that but I thought the forks were about 2 inches shorter than the Fazer?
So more info please.  :)

General / Re: How far to commute?
« on: 10 January 2015, 01:43:50 pm »
I currently commute from Rossendale to near Congleton, just over 50miles each way. Takes me an hour and a quarter in the morning including a stop at a Tesco for a paper, milk etc. The return journey varies, about an hour and 20 mins (non stop) but can take much longer depending on the traffic on the M60 and M66. I travel by car/van as I have equipment to take with me. Worth it to me for the money and I'm used to the travel (but would like something a bit closer to home), I work in construction and have to go where the work is.
