Fitted back together all ok. Even the timing hole lined up!

Riding for the first time to the MOT stn. The suspension needs looking at. The front dives even under the lightest pressure and the back just seems to bob along on it's un-preloaded spring (A bit like Uncle Buck's car) No comp or rebound damping either.

I have asked before but has anyone any links on how to convert the bike to race-shift?

Success!
A bit of persuation has it off.

Have cleaned the shaft and bush bore, now it rotates freely.

Will have to assemble it in the right order as it seemed to be wrongly put back together by whoever was in there before.

I have some hi temp wurth brake paste to use instead of copper grease.

Have soaked the valve spindle and body plate for hours.
Managed to push it through a few mm now it is not shifting. It is stuck fast.
Will have to get on the bearing press!!

Here is a couple of pics.

The valve is stuck, the servo is there and plugged in. Not run to see if cables move when revved.
There is no movement of the rev counter needle when ign is turned on.

I have race shift on my other bikes as I do tackdays. Dont want to blow any engines/gearboxes by getting muddled.

Ok I will have a  closer look at the exh system at the weekend. Not able to take any piccys atm.

Thanks for the help.

Just a couple of questions for now.

Can the gear shift lever be converted to race shift?

I have also found 2 cables dangling under the bike. Look like clutch cable type. Is this from the exup? if so will they need connecting to something?

Cheers.

Hi guy's n gals.

My name is Andy from Bexley in Kent.

After owning a few different bikes and currently own 4 Ducati's, I have bought an '05 Thousand for commuting and general everyday biking.

I will be posting in the help section no doubt, as I am not familiar with the Fazer. Although I do like to do my own spannering.

Hope to be a regular face on here.
