Motorcycle transporter wanted for new purchase
« on: 24 June 2013, 04:40:05 pm »
Hi Folks
Just bought a Enfield Bullet as a stable mate for my Fazer 8.
Need it transporting from South Shields to Southampton.
Any recommendations for a reliable and fast service. ?
Thanks
Clive

You could try
www.anyvan.com
Once you put in the details, you get quotes from various peeps for the job. If you google them, I am sure there will be reviews somewhere as to what they are like.

Speak to a guy called Dave Danaher at LTS.  They do a lot of recovery work and have specialist bike transporters.  The number is 01582 572362.

Because you don't want to, or because the bike won't do it?

How much do you expect it to cost?

I would second BLD, used them to collect a bike from Chester to Devon, not the cheapest at @£130 and you need to bear in mind they do collections etc when they have other jobs in the area so you cannot specify a day but their customer service and delivery team were excellent at keeping me informed throughout, their van was also covered and well set up for transporting bikes. Overall I highly recommend.

Thanks for all the replies peeps.
Anyvan were quite good, got a few reasonable quotes, BLD also good but reckon on 5 days for pickup and 5 days for delivery, (thats working days).  I think quite a few base their prices on that.
Being impatient I made a lot of calls yesterday and managed to get a guy thru Motorcycledeliveryservice.co.uk, his name is Peter Shaw, 1 man business, good reviews over many years. Trades as PJS Transwift Ltd, fully bike insured, takes photos and does all docs etc.  He is picking it up tomorrow and delivering by weekend.
£150 from South Shields to Southampton, pretty reasonable I thought so I have gone for him.
But thanks for all the suggestions guys. Thanks for the number MEM62 but didn't get round to phoning in the end.
Christo, I think the bike would be able to make the journey, It's just me that wouldn't!  :(
Keeping the Fazer 8 for long distance riding and fun days out with my mates, the Royal Enfield is just for me to bumble round the country lanes and try a different style of motorcycling. Dunno if I'll keep it, but for the price it was worth trying. :)
