Hmmm, like you Noggy, I've been doing some extra shifts in order to get get a couple more days tagged onto my holidays next month. I did five nights, finished on Sunday morning, then back on for four days Monday morning. Last day today and I'm feeling a tad tired :z
I was supposed be doing a driving refresher course on Monday, but it was cancelled and no-one thought to tell me, so I had a couple of hours being paid to  ride the bike in the sunshine (to the training dept and back to my workplace) :D
 Smug? Oh yes :lol

Finished a run of  five nights, sleep this morning, took bike to Shelsley Walsh hill climb. Not taking part, obviously :rolleyes , but a good afternoon out.
Off to training centre tomorrow for refresher driving course, hope I can stay awake  :eek
Oh, and last night I took a guy into hospital who had a mishap while having some rest and relaxation with his wife...There but for the grace of God (or whoever)...

Hi Chris :) . I'm a paramedic in the Midlands. I didn't do an intro thread, I used to post a bit on here a few years ago, so didn't feel the need, though I don't suppose anyone remembers me. I was more of a lurker than a poster :lol

Busy tonight? Not too bad here so far. The last few nights have been  :z , which is not a good thing for me, I need to stay awake. Good for the esteemed citizens though, not getting ill  :lol

Chris, been looking elsethread, nice to see your bike MoT'd and looking v slinky :D

I no longer own a Fazer, though my Fine Young Man has one. I now have a BMW F800R which is very different, but lots of fun. I would love to post some pics, but feel as though I shouldn't, this site being the Home of the Foccers, an' all.

I agree Daz, getting kitted up is all part of the pleasure ;)

Utube doesn't work too well on works computer, takes ages loading and usually ends up freezing, that's if it doesn't block it as 'tasteless and/or offensive' even when it is about a basket of fluffy kittens :rolleyes . So I annoy other people who are working nights instead :evil

Damp outside, so in the car again (wimp...)tonight. Warmer though, so stuff will start to grow properly on the allotrment, I hope.

My Fine Young Man asked me today what I would like for my birthday. I said I would like a tank bag (I have been borrowing his, my last one got trashed when the Fazer was written off). He misheard and was very suprised at my request for a handbag. We've been together a long time, and he never realised I was that into them... :rollin

There have been some good rides to work and back - at last. Not tonight though, peeing down when I left home.

When was getting kitted up to leave for home the other day, Gino, the shift guy for that night commented on what a faff it seemed to be compared to just getting in a car. He doesn't get bikes at all, and it wasn't worth trying to explain, even if I could. And I wanted to get home.

Lennie (female, who I took over from tonight)on the other hand, is a fellow biker.

I'm rambling on, I know. Just trying to stay awake :rolleyes

I've only ever been asked to remove my helmet once, the first time I fuelled up after passing my test. In 1994.
Have fuelled up a few times since then :)

Congrats from a fellow biker of the female persuasion :) .
I too have passed an exam today which has been stressing me out somewhat, so a few gins will be consumed shortly...

Call me po-faced if you like, but I don't think any sort of abuse is funny...

Fair play, clever stuff. I'm not techy at all, and only do what I must with computers. :rolleyes

Not been on here for a while, but am I right in thinking you are a gamekeeper, Looney? What do you do, Dead Eye?

Well I should be on 4nights starting yesterday, but I am on a four week course at the moment. Very hard work and I don't like getting up early five days a week! And my night shifts have't been covered. It's not as if the management didn't know I would be elsewhere. The usual piss-up/brewery scenario. Nice not doing weekend nights, though :) .

I used to get this sometimes when I had my Fazer 1000. Not often though, so it may be a bit of Reynauds. especially as I don't seem to get it on my F800R, which is a twin. I haven't had the new bike long, though, so it is too soon to judge really.
Might be worth getting checked out by your GP, Taylor.

Have a good day, Stevierst :)

I'm on the home stretch, last one of four. I usually sleep pretty well during the day, but still feel wrecked at about 2am to about 5am especially the first night. I recover well though, for which I am eternally grateful.

Not a gamer myself so cannot contribute to hijack, sorry!

But to get back to the OT, I am a paramedic currently on third night of four, and it's been BUSY!!! I'm on here now trying not to fall asleep for the last 2 hours of the shift, or before the next job comes in, which ever is soonest...

Chris, I have a lot of contact with your people in this part of the world, usually a nice polite lot :) . How does it work in Shetland with ambulances and suchlike? Is there anything on the island, or do they get flown in? I guess people in your area are a lot more self-reliant than here; only last night we had someone call us because he had a head cold and blocked sinuses and said he couldn't breathe. Which he could. And someone else who had seen doctors and consultants and surgeons and hadn't been made better, so called us because he wanted an injection to cure him :rolleyes .

Anyhow, mustn't grumble :lol . Do you find on a night shift that sometimes it will go really quickly even though you may not be very busy? And other times it can go on for what seems like days even if theres a lot going on?
