Can't see behind me
« on: 19 March 2012, 11:43:05 pm »
Hi
Just wondering if anybody knows of good replacement mirrors for 98 fzs as I can't see a bloody thing behind me. Also am I able to replace them with mirrors from a later model or are they model specific?
Thanks for your help
John

Not that it helps but I can't either! It's

A- my shoulders
B- to far out so I can only see the pavement or the other side of the road.

Crap really

you can get set of mirrors off 2002/2004 600c or 1000cc as they are longer stalk so you will not see your shoulders in them  :rolleyes  and they will bolt  on without any mod to them  ;)

Blind-Spot  mirrors

For £1.99ish some FOCers have fitted blind spot mirrors from Halfords (the rectangular type) but put them on with the thick end of the wedge to the outside of the mirror.  This helps them see what is directly behind them whilst using the rest of the mirror for wider vision.

mirrors from 2002 onwards fit straight on got mine from www.louisdetlev found him on this site search instant vision just like other bikes, vibrate a bit at higher speeds (90mph) but not a problem they fold as well usefull for me when it goes in the shed.Quick delivery as well.

I've got later model mirrors. Went for cheap eBay ones at first, plenty of vision while stationary but too much vibration at 50+mph. I have since fitted genuine yam FZ1 mirrors from scrapyard, which are much better but still vibrate more than standards.

Literally just posted in another thread about this but I got replacements from Louis.eu

http://www.louis.eu/index.php?topic=artnr_gr&artnr_gr=10028310&typ_id=RJO25

30 Euros for the pair including postage to the UK. Made a huge difference and I can finally see whats going on behind me!

There is a photo of them attached to my bike on page 7 of the "Show me your Fazer!" thread :)

yes they do but i think you need 2002/2005 as up to 2001 as the same small mirrors as fazer 600 1998/2002 i think :\

Well did say  :D looks you guys have helped me again. Anyone tried any small mods to prevent vibration ? Not to make another crap post but what is it that vibrates or is it due to the extra length at speed ?
