Put the bike on its centre stand & put weight on the rear of the seat to raise front wheel now move the bars from left to right with two fingers slowly this should be a smooth action if not this indicates worn head bearings also check front wheel bearings for play.

You can use a foot pump & one of those plastic adaptors for blowing up beach balls e.t.c. It's the red one. :)

Sython old fuel out of tank put some fresh in,it will run rough to start with as old fuel in carbs but once the new gets through it should improve,if you purchase the bike I would recomend some of this added to a small amount of fuel to clean inside of carbs,it may save the hassle of stripping them down. It's not just for lawnmowers I've been using it for years with no problems (don't use Redex). :)

« on: 27 July 2014, 10:31:34 pm »
Yes undo the screw which can be very tight & remove metal. The indicator stalk can then be pushed back into fairing & that will be very tight also so a far amount of pressure when pushing maybe required. :)

Here you go, http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,91.0.html.
As said the TPS screws are security type with the bit in the middle so you reqiure torx bits or allen key type with a hole in the centre.
TPS must be checked before carb adjustment. :)

Make sure the front wheel spins freely if the brake pads are not releasing in the calipers can cause a knocking noise.

motorcycle carburetor balancing- Carbtune

May I suggest that it maybe best to use only standed 95octane when carb balancing as Fraser has mentioned, you could add a fuel preserve which contains a carb cleaner which should clean out any sludge but I wouldn't add to esso super as fuel preserve increases octane levels also.
Great bikes enjoy! I have a 98 model in red. :)

+4 Venom from Motad, you may have to balance your carbs after fitting as I did to get a steady tickover but this is the norm with non standed downpipes.

I've used Granville satin black on a 350 two stroke good paint but it may not keep it's original colour for long after serious heat, keep painting them with a brush but in the end you may be happier when they've rusted through to get a nice set of Motad stainless ones & no more painting. :)

Check the chain condition/tension/sprockets hope that front one hasn't loose.

I have one of these sounds, louder than standed pipe & nice with the baffle removed which can be fitted for M.O.T, it is not as loud as a race can.

You don't have to bid for this just give them a ring & you will get it for the price above.

Try lubricating with engine oil if you want to use grease lithium/general purpose or molydisulphide.

I have Motad downpipes & after unscrewing the filter if you rotate the filter & follow the curve of the pipes down you can get it out of the left hand side at the bottom if you've got the correct size filter. :)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Removing Rust from the Standard Exhaust
« on: 03 June 2013, 09:41:34 pm »
As others have said downpipes tend to be good collector rusts through really quickly so when you start rubbing down EEK, I would put them back on for M.O.T & when you can afford it get some stainless ones from here, carbs will need balancing after fitting, if you ring them direct your get them for the price shown. ;)
