Removed the old throttle cables and threaded through my new OEM ones... then realised that noggy was kind enough to have included them on his carbs... I really should have looked before I bought the new ones, woops
I then spent about 15 minutes cursing trying to get them attached to the carbs and a further two hours trying to refit the carbs... I forgot how much of an absolute pain in the ass job this is
"Re-fitting my carbs was easy" said no Foccer ever.
So, I opted for a potentially stupid option (this happens far too often when things don't go my way) and wrapped a ratchet strap around the carbs and the head of the engine and ratcheted the buggers on!! It wasn't super quick, but it certainly made life much easier. At this point, my back reminded me that it was now totally ruined and that I should go back in doors...
Never had a problem and this is how I do it.
Loosen the screws on the OEM inlet manifolds hose clamps until the ends are flush with the end of the nut.
Moisten a cloth well with WD40, rub it around the inside edges of the inlet manifolds.
Do the same on the rubbers on the air box.
Put the carbs in from the right hand side, fit the throttle cables.
They will now push on easily to the inlet manifolds.
Now push the air box rubbers on to the rear.
Check all are on correctly
Tighten the bracket on the top of the air box and frame first before the tightening the bolts on the side of the air box.
Tighten the hose clamps.
