Apparently 98-01 don't fit due to different mounting holes. Many thanks anyway Ceri.

Turned out it was just a faulty plug so a new set is now installed and bike running well. Thanks for your input guys.

Thanks guys. With this weather I haven't been putting the raincover on my Fazer much as the bike is usually wet when I get home so water could be the problem. Carb balance wouldn't go amiss either as it's been a while. Will check and WD40 plug area to start with.

FZS600 Fazer / Stuttering At Low Revs
« on: 08 January 2014, 09:16:23 pm »
The last few times I have ridden my 03 600 around town it has been stuttering quite a lot at low revs. When I give it the gas it lurches for a second or two before taking off. I'm having to constantly cover the clutch in case it stalls. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. I'll keep a look out. At least it's something that isn't urgent.

Cheers. Just had a look - 101 so from Germany also. It's managed to get past 7 UK MOTs with wrong direction beams until today!

I have just discovered at MOT my lights dip to the right so I must have a European import. Have put on EU beam deflectors to get through MOT. Is there a more long term solution, preferably cheap(ish)? FZS600 Foxeye. Thanks.

I tried to take some oil out with a foot and a half of small bore tubing but couldn't get a path to the oil. Let me know if you have any success.

Getting oil out of the filler hole isn't as easy as it seems. There's a lot of mechanical shit in the way of getting to the oil.

The light has come on before during a longish trip a few months ago. Oil has been changed since then - semi synth. Ive only been doing  short runs lately - up to 30 miles with no problems. Yeah, it is an annoying niggle.

Is it safe to ride is the crunch question?? I'm gonna try and get a little oil out and get the level down to the upper-level marker anyway. I've read these Fazer oil lights can be temperamental.

You can get that sealing gasket on Fleabay for about £6 inc postage.

FZS600 Fazer / Oil Light
« on: 03 January 2013, 05:48:27 pm »
About 60 miles into a 90 mile trip today the oil light on my 02 FZS600 came on. I stopped and checked the oil level after letting engine cool and if anything there is too much oil in the sump. It's so far above the upper level mark you can't see where it ends. Could the expansion of the oil when hot cause oil light to come on? When I set off again oil light came on again after about 10 miles and I rode with it on for the last 20 miles.Cheers

It sounds pretty good. Re. performance, I'm not sure if there is  any difference though there might be a little. It's a fair bit lighter and looks a lot better.

In very good condition with only a small light scratch. Only done a few hundred miles. Road legal with removeable baffle. £60 Southend, Essex. ps. It was new but didn't come with a nut and bolt to attach to rear hanger but standard exhaust bolt fits.

That's a reasonable point. Not that I saw. I knew some friendly Foccer would know and give me some advice. The answer is only obvious when you know it.

Thanks lads. I had my battery-eating Datatool 3 removed today so I'll put new battery in. Hopefully now the new one will last a while. Cheers.

FZS600 Fazer / Charging New Battery
« on: 02 December 2012, 05:57:34 pm »
How long does it normally take to charge a new battery? I got a Bosch battery, filled it with the acid pack, left it to settle for a couple of hours and put it on an Accumate. The Accumate is saying fully charged after only 2 or 3 hours.
I thought it would take a lot longer? Thanks.
