Send in a complaint?  :lol

Next one's not till something like 2026. Just got a bit darker around here - total cloud cover so nothing to see. Missed the Aurora the other night too, was supposed to have been seen even as far south as here in Oxfordshire folks were saying.

Here in Peterborough there was only a thin layer of cloud.

Saw it in the reflection of the car window.

That one was really dramatic!

Today's was only a partial eclipse though, 1999's was a total one.

Here in Lancashire there were plenty of short breaks in the cloud for the first 75 minutes but then covered by cloud. I didn't think I would be that bothered about it but had some really good views looking through my welding mask.  8)
Made a small hole in a box device and you could see the eclipse of a small bright disc but nothing like as exciting as the mask view.

Eclipse in cloudy Suffolk

And a sun spot this afternoon.

Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

Ditto Cambridge. Turned into the nicest, sunniest day of the year so far about an hour after the (non) event! >:

I sat in the garden with my camera pointing in the general direction of the sun in the hope of capturing a decent piccie.

Either it didn't get dark or I fell asleep.

Got a lovely picture of our rotary clothes line though.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.
