FZS600 Fazer / Re: What aftermarket exhaust did you all get?
« on: 22 August 2019, 09:13:18 PM »
I fitted delkaevic downpipes to my last one and will get some for my current one.
This is the end ca I fitted. Good sound without being offensive to the neighbours

Somebody needs to inform the poor sods that it's possible to get a bike with an engine fitted with then they could cover that 800miles in less than 16 hours (in a brisk fashion of course) and be home in time for tea :lol

The first rider apparently got to Brest (600km) after 20 hours!!!!!

I was out and about at lunchitime today and say riders half way back to Paris already!

Have a go at this :eek
https://www.paris-brest-paris.org/index2.php?lang=en&cat=presentation&page=historique_pbp

7600 cyclists left Paris between 4pm yesterday and 5am this morning to cycle to Brest and back. A total of 1200km (800 miles) and they must complete the "race" within 90 hours with no backup vehicles. They stop where they want, eat and sleep when/where they want and basically cycle for as many of the 24 hours each day as their body will allow.

They are currently over halfway to Brest having passed through the area where I am (Mayenne) today. Hopefully I wont see to many of the foccers tomorrow but expect to see a lot on their way back to Paris on Wednesday

Highways England. Allowing the complete closure of the M20 for the whole weekend this weekend. With this weekend being one of the busiest of the year for travellers to Dover/Eurotunnel, it is mad.

When you buy something from a shop and next day it's reduced in a fuckin' sale and they never tell you,WANKERS  :finger

I'm not saying you should do this but...…………

Buy it again at the cheaper price, wait an hour or two then return the cheaper one with the previous (more expensive) receipt and get the money back.

« on: 12 August 2019, 04:38:25 PM »
Ive still got a copy of Autocad 2000 on disk, so may have to obtain an old Windows XP pc and stick it on that, using it just as a cad station

If your main machine is reasonable spec and running Windows 10 and you have the XP/whatever media, enable Hyper-V on your Windows 10 machine and run it as a virtual machine.

General / Hastings Direct - Be careful
« on: 12 August 2019, 12:42:12 PM »

 :wall

A couple of weeks ago I called them to add a third bike (another FZS600) to my policy. The intention was to take the original FZS600 off once I get serious and sell it. £25 to add a third bike. Not bad I thought and confirmed with the guy on the phone that all 3 bikes were now on cover.
On Saturday I was playing on the interweb and did an MIDB check of all three bikes to discover that the Tiger was showing as not insured. Fortunately I hadn't ridden it recently. A not so quick call later to Hastings uncovered the fact that their systems said I had Bike 1 and Bike 2 on cover but not Bike 3 and MIDB said it was 1&3 on cover, not 2. :headbang

Turns out the numpty who had made the change had screwed it all up and the policy should only allow 2 bikes on cover at any one time.

Moral of this story - If you make a change to your insurance, check your documents BEFORE you start using the bike. Luckily for me I realised before finding out the hard way
