I made only the brackets to fit the gauges to the fork plugs. Normal mounting is with a clamp to the handle bar. But I did not like that.
Here are the gauges:

And here is a picture of the standard brackets and my cardboard templates:

The pods are made of aluminum. First Intention was to use stainless steel but with my DIY possibilities it is hard to finish.
But the aluminium is stiff and stable enough. It is a fuel injected one from 2010.

Installed a rev counter and a voltmeter on the RE.

Voltage drops significantly with light switched on

It´s an EFI so the bigger Amal carb will not work but she has the Indian silencer installed (the original one for Europe comes with the bike in a cardboard)  :)
Specs say she can do 82 mph. During the test drive I stopped at 56 mph.  Was fine for me and the bike.
Faster makes a lot of vibrations. Tomorrow she will get registered on my name and on Thursday I take her home.
I was wondering if it´s the right bike for me. So my intention was to make a test drive and get home disappointed and forgetting Enfields for the future.
It did not work  :rollin

They have server problems and they are working on it. But it will take some more days due to health reasons of the responsible person.

Bought a second NTV650. It was sooooo cheap that I could not resist  :)
The last key was lost by the pre-owner but all the paperwork was fine including TÜV (German MOT) till April 2017.
First intention was to use it as donor bike for my other NTV but my Honda dealer was able to provide me with two new keys for 65 Euro by sending the igniton switch to a specialist.
So plans changed  :lol

Second thing I did after ordering a Motad silencer was some welding and painting in the headlight area.

Stanley was/is also supplier for Suzuki so the quality should be comparable to Honda.

@noggythenog
The original Hornet 900 SC48 headlight has a chrome ring and an unpainted housing:

Here in Germany they are rare and quiet expensive. You can buy a new aftermarket headlight for about the same price. But I think the OEM-quality from Stanley is better even if it is used. The one I used for the BMW was cheap since the housing had a crack and the chrome ring some dents and scratches.
An alternative is the very similar headlight from the naked version of the Suzuki SV650.

Replaced the big and ugly original headlight by a repainted Hornet 900 unit:

And changed the TDM panniers from Yamaha to Krauser like I have it already on my Fazer and the NTV:

Picked up my "nice weather car" from the garage after repairing several damages due to low use (8 k miles in 11 years)  :rolleyes
It was fucking expensive but I still like the car and the number plate  :)
