FZS600 Fazer / Another HeadLight Post
« on: 16 June 2016, 05:12:49 PM »
Hi All.

I have recently added an HID Xenon Kit to my main headlight. I intend to do the H4 full beam mod next.

However I have two issues:

1) Obviously now my full beam headlight has the normal standard headlight bulb and so is a different colour to my HID Xenon Light. I wanted to ask people if anyone had tried the Phillips diamond bulb (apparantly 5000K). I wanted to possibly buy this to save cost on having to buy another HID kit to match the colour of my main headlight.  NOTE: A very popular bulb that I was recommended Ospram Night breaker is still quite yellow so this will not match.

2) The parking light bulb (the one that stays on all the time when lights are on where the full beam light sits) is also a different colour to the HID Light so I wanted to know again is there a light bulb that matches the xenon or do you guys just take the bulb out and ditch it? As I'm doing the full beam mod next I won't really need that light anymore will I?

Cheers :)

FZS600 Fazer / 1st gear and 2nd gear hard and can slip into Neural!
« on: 29 March 2016, 03:05:05 PM »
Quite recently my gears are becoming a bit temperamental. Getting into 1st can be quite hard (have to press hard) then when I accelerate I find it hard to get it into 2nd and sometimes it just slips into Neutral. And at times when that happens it gets a bit stuck and then it's really hard to get it back into any gear! (All higher gear seem to be fine)

I had a skim through some searches on Foc U but can't really find anything relevant.... I was thinking it could be the chain is too slack (which I think it is a little bit on the loosey side so Im going to give it a tighten today). Are there any other suggestions of what I could do whilst I get my hands dirty?

FZS600 Fazer / New Bike - Petrol Leak - Carb Cleaning
« on: 26 June 2015, 09:04:32 PM »
Hi everyone!

I bought a Yamaha Fazer 600 1999 today. I rode 20 miles down the road and noticed that I had a fuel leak from one of the hoses that empties any over fuelling from the petrol pump (I'm not very technical). After speaking to a few biker friends they have told me that as the bike I bought has been sitting in a garage for over a year with no fuel in the tank that a type of wax builds up in the fuel tank so when inserting petrol the wax and fuel mixes into the carbs creating blockages... Basically I need to clean out my carbs....

I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I bought a Haynes Manual but I'm finding it difficult to understand it... Does anyone know a user friendly link of instructions of how to do all this???

Please help me!!
