« on: 18 May 2012, 12:47:55 PM »
Right guys am gonna buy a new air filter as the one thats in is 12 year old so i thought id give her a treat !!
What do you guys think is better k and n which are slightly dearer(£30) or yamaha genuine part (£25.90)
Anyone notice any difference performance wise, fuel economy etc.

did that yesterday valentino would have been proud of me !! it still doesnt pick up right away when you blip it it gives a very slight stutter. The thing that worries me is all the clunking and clanking when sitting in nuetral but goes away when the clutch is pulled in ?? The clutch isnt slipping and the bike goes fine when its moving it does make some strange noises when going slow and the revs are at about 2500. im going to start looking at each thing and work my way thru them the bikes a 2001 model with 16k on the clock dont know maybe if the chain and sprockets need done how long do they usually last on the fazer ?? thanks for the replys btw much appreciated and al let the forum know how i get on. cheers

Ive got the same bike m8 and my forks are looking baaaddd will try using your idea and hopefully get them shining as good as yours i put on yellow light covers years ago (2001 model had it since new ) and think it looks really good and protects headlamps from stone damage. Keep up the good work !!! cheers.

hey mine is doing the same 2001 model with 16k on the clock i service it myself and looking at the haynes manual it just needs brake fluid, coolant change plus swing arm regrease things i can all do myself at 16k service. My bike stutters when you blip it but is fine when its moving i went to yam dealer today and they told me to try FLC 200 which i did but it still feels the same i also noticed it sounds rough with some rattling from the engine in neutral but when you pull in the clutch this stops ?? any ideas guys ?? ive checked the plugs and they all look ok any ideas how to move forward to fix this problem ? i was going to change the inline fuel filter, check the carb balance, stuff like that any ideas will be most welcome i will try anything before i give up and give it to a dealer to fix so hopefully this forum will be my savior !!

I do all my own fettelling to a point and with your help hope to sort out the problems im experiencing as i imagine someone on here has had the same problems at some point. So hi again.
