Hello. Original engine mount bolts Gen1 Fazer 1000.

1x 10 mm bolt 110mm long.
2x 10mm bolt 115mm long.
1x 8mm bolt 115mm long.

All measurements taken from under bolt head.

Hope this helps.   :)

Awesome thanks !

I take it they are the lengths Without the slider ?

And bolt shank widths, not hex head widths ?

Hi lads

I went to remove my crash bungs and took the left one off, put the bolts back thru the engine mount and realised I needed either shorter bolts or thick spacers/washers to get the nut to butt up against something, due to threads not going far enough up bolts

Can anyone spec me new bolts to order or spacers ?

Just need length and width

I’d have measured them but silly me lost my tape measure  :rolleyes

I’m a bit of a tart, I dont ride in winter. But today I had to check if she was ok as moving to a new place next week. I expected the old girl to be dead as not touched it for 3 months now, put key in, pressed the button and nothing, not even a click. So I jumped it off my car and she fired straight up  :D  warmed her up for a few mins and off I went for a blast. Jesus Christ I’ve missed the power, what an absolute beauty she is, and running perfectly despite her extended hibernation

This looks amazing!! I’d love to attempt a trip like this. How much would it cost ? Do you do it in one hit or stop in France overnight? How much fuel to get down there ?

So many questions !

Yeah same here mate. Mine was corroded to fk in the end, and screen was shite. I ended up with a very short  sport one, I loved the throttle response in a mode, proper hooligan  :lol

For all those that have had them reworked by whoever, are new springs / bushes (if needed) and oil enough to make a significant difference to the ride without the revalving? Or are they still choppy over bumps?

My bike is generally harsh at slow speed on shitty rough B roads, but once I’m flying it’s firm but it takes The sting out of high speed bumps 80-100mph. That’s what I wanted tho as I don’t hang about. It’s track bike hard and doesn’t dive much under braking. I’d probably have progressive springs and a proper revalve if you want proper smooth comfort for moderate speed touring

I had a tracer 900 for 2 years, loved it. Suspension wasn’t the best and took a lot to dial out the gremlins, but the new GT version has decent fully adjustable stuff and it’s fully sorted. If I had the money I’d have the GT version

Bikerz in stoke did my knackered forks with ktec linear springs for £205 all in

Yeah when I hit 120 on a straight along a local B road, I usually start screaming in my helmet and then back off and break seriously early for the bend just in case like :eek :D even if the road was shut I doubt I could ride much quicker really, maybe 10% or something

These guys are God’s

I just got mine sorted, it was dangerous . Had the forks rebuilt with stiffer ktec springs by bikerz in stoke. Firm but comfortable. Fitted early bronze s1000rr shock, easy job, and it’s awesome now. Rear is an inch higher too

« on: 24 July 2019, 01:59:46 PM »
So wich one should I choose? The one with the silver fork or the bronze fork?

I’ve got the bronze one. It’s epic

Angel gts on this bike. Decent but not as soft and sticky as the st I had on my tracer

Rear will be done in a thousand miles so I’m going for an m7rr

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Chain & sprocket recommendations
« on: 31 May 2019, 01:02:52 PM »
No split link on these, it would be suicide imo

Jt sprockets and a dud chain off eBay seems good value, with a chain tool to rivet the thing

As for your linkage, I did the s1000rr shock, easy mod, I used an early shock, bronze body 2008 iirc. This has transformed it, and the rear is an inch higher. I’m on tiptoes but I love it !

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Brakes are poor
« on: 16 May 2019, 06:09:54 PM »
Anyone on OEM brake lines should seriously get them replaced on safety grounds, Yamaha suggest a lifespan of 4 years for them !!!! Wezmoto on eBay is your best bet price-wise, exactly the same kit as Hel and the same lifetime warranty.

Ok cheers mate

What fluid do you all recommend?

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Brakes are poor
« on: 12 May 2019, 10:02:49 PM »
so I’m a big lad, 22 stone, but damn these brakes ain’t sharp ffs. It’s done 45k and I don’t think much has been done to her other than oil changes. Engine is sweet, just had valve clearances done and pretty much all of them were miles out. But the brakes are crap. Pull the front brake hard and it will stop but 3 finger pulls are poor at best:(

I’m thinking a fluid change would be a start, but then steel braided lines at same time will surely improve the performance?

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Mivv suono ...... too loud!
« on: 20 April 2019, 02:43:29 PM »
I have a mivv titanium oval on my Gen 1, with no baffle in. It’s absolutely lush lol, crisp and rather audible, but no way is it too loud ! It’s just nice even at an 80mph motorway cruise

Compared to the motad full system I had on my tracer900 it’s very quiet. My ears used to ring the day after a decent ride out with that bloody thing, but it was sexual  :rollin

General / Re: what did you do with your fazer today ?

Raped the absolute cnt off of it, chasing my insane mate on his srad 750  :rollin

Tbf I won I the straights. I let him go on the corners because he’s a mental  :D
