well, it's come to that unfortunate time that I need to sell my Fazer 8 For me it has been a truly exceptional bike over the past 5 years, but the wife has never been 100% comfy on it, and if we want to do more miles, we need a different bike. Gone for a Versys 1000 GT, which is a very exceptional, but totally different bike to the Fazer, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Cheers all

It certainly wasn't my first choice of bike, but I bought my 8 from new (black 2013) as it was reduced in price (the MT 08) were on their way, it had a minimal deposit, and 0% finance over 4 years.
It's got it's niggles I'm sure, but then I'm not a MCN critic that can ride bikes back to back and compare them.
It accelerates swiftly enough for me and has seemed to stop swiftly enough for me. I can do 150 miles with no arse cramps, but then sometimes I can do 50 and get them (but then I'm no youngster)
The missus enjoys going on the back for a quick trip to Filey for fish and chips or to Lincoln for lunch, but she wouldn't last a touring weekend on it, and I'm not sure if I would.
Every now and then I think to myself 'I really fancy a new bike' i go into the garage and have a look and think, it looks good, it goes well enough, it's paid for and it hasn't killed me yet. and then go and have another beer.

so is this a common fault when replacing the exhaust?
Not seen this issue occur before in the forum, and as I'm looking to replace the original pipes on my bike, is this some thing that can potentially cause a problem?
cheers

you thinking for night riding or just daytime illumination? Certainly won't make many cager friends using these at night time
Just daytime when filtering...
Yep, you'll def be seen with them on. The Fazer 8 already has two running side lights fitted internally which I don't suppose the FZ8 has due to being a single light unit.

I'd send it back and get the Givi system instead, much less hassle, and sturdier!

Right I'm on it now, weathers improving and I've some long ride outs planned so I need to get myself some handle bar risers.
If any one has a decent set lying about they don't need/want then give me a knock.
Cheers

if we vote brexit on the 23rd we won't be in any further european tournemounts anyway so our opening games this year won't matter....
Not quite, we're voting to be out of the EU, not Europe. (ffs)

So, did 250 miles the other day around North Yorkshire moors (and only got one speeding ticket - 69 in a 60, coming off a roundabout onto a short dual carriageway and wanted to get past line of traffic for a clear road but didn't see van until last second - feels like entrapment to me? but I digress) First proper time out this year but by god did my wrists feel it. (the slapped arse was the speeding ticket btw - received it within 3 days - still not sure who was riding the bike at the time???)
Really must look properly into getting some bar risers (or strengthen my core muscles?)

Perhaps it is an indication of the British apathy that this thread has been read 2460 times but only 58 have voted ?
just bringing it back to the forefront - perhaps the most important vote we'll have for our childrens future?

I think they both bikes look great - mine only came in black.
With the fat bars, is it the bars themselves that give the 30mm raise or the risers (or both)? What's the difference between the stock bars and these?

Stay, until someone can give me some actual facts about what will happen if we leave. Not mere conjecture based on inherent racism or xenophobia.
surely that statement itself is based on 'mere conjecture'?
