Price is £600

It has 97225 miles on it and has been used each day.

Scuffs to engine cases.
Some bubbling under fork wraps
some valve noise.

« on: 05 November 2016, 02:25:07 pm »
Hi yes, all checked out ok as far as my analogue meter was reading.
I've put a new battery on and put a HID in dip beam for less current use.
It's cured what was bothering me which was that the lights dimmed when braking or indicating.

I had suspected not enough output but battery seems to have been on way out.

Thanks that makes sense. Can I measure the output of the generator before the RR then the RR output to see if both are OK.

FZS600 Fazer / Electrical question
« on: 11 October 2016, 04:20:57 pm »
There are three white wires from the generator, 3 phase AC,  to the regulator / rectifier.
Does it matter in which order these are connected.
Also whats the amperage from the generator AC. I think the RR gives out 18 amps DC
but wondering about the input.

Oh yeah, '98   600

Hi, these results are at a steady 5000 revs. With lights on voltage drops to 12. Bike used every day for work.  Battery takes charge OK and charger shows all good. Not going flat as a run without lights and it's fully charged again. Dark winter commute gonna kill it though.

Hi,
'98 600 boxeye. Running standard single dip headlights. Indicators and brake lights dim headlights.
Meter across battery shows 13v. Engine running it's up to almost 14v. When lights on voltage drops and with brake light it's down to just 12v so not charging much if at all.

Will this be as simple as crappy connections or is there something else to check.

Just had them of all off and cleaned and red rubbered and copper greased. Pads move about the pins. Braking is spot on so maybe just live with the noise.

Hi, front brake pads rattle in calliper. They rock around the pad pin. Is this worn calliper or fixable with spring maybe. Ferodo pads, '98 600,  83,000 miles.

Could be so, I have nothing to compare it to.
This is why I'm thinking to chuck on the cheapest as if mine is that bad anything will still be a revelation.

Hi, does anyone have any experience of Hagon vs Betor vs YSS shocks.
Hagon is around £300 the YSS a little less but with damping adjustment,
And the Betor is just cheap at around £180.

You could say that anything will be an improvement on my 80,000 mile original
Shock. ☺

I've been asked if £650 all in, both tests, bike hire, training as required.
Is this a good price or should I advise shopping round some more. The
Lad knows the school as did CBT there a while back.

« on: 28 November 2013, 10:59:53 am »
I use engine oil, old or new, whatevers to hand.
Flings off but I think that's the point, not really to lube as such.
Once a week after ride home, more if wet, takes 30 seconds.

Absolutely brilliant and puts my worries to shame. Gives a
little perspective to life.

Also shows that you don't need to get your knee down. :)
