For Sale & Wanted / Gen 1 thou belly pan SOLD
« on: 29 December 2018, 04:39:13 pm »
Hi all, bought this belly pan a while ago off ebay but never fitted it to my Fazer 1000, looks like a home paint job but not too bad. A little bit of cracking in the paint underneath but this cant be seen when fitted, bag of fittings, looks to be all there but as mentioned i never got around to fitting it. £30 & collection only please from Barnsley, South York's as i don't have a box big enough. Sorry for the very small links, fek knows why it happens but they do work. If no interest i'll bung it on ebay in the next couple of days. Cheers. SOLD

General / Fazer 1000 to FZ6
« on: 05 July 2018, 07:57:30 pm »
Hi all, who on here has gone from a gen 1 thou to the FZ6? happy with the switch? reasons for & against. No plans to swap my thou any time soon as i'm still fettling & buying shite for it but every now & then i do like to swap for a 600.

Don't want to cause any friction but is there a specific model FZ6 that is considered the best one to get. Cheers, D.

Thank's bud, looking at the service history the seals have recently been done so i'm looking to change the oil & springs. Never seen a seal "puller" before, have you used one? easy to use?

Hi all, planning to change the front springs soon on my gen 1 fazer thou, i know removal of the damper rod bolt is required when changing seals but is it required when changing the springs? Flicking through the Haynes manual it shows removal of spring & change of fork oil without touching the damper rod bolt.

« on: 19 June 2018, 09:20:05 pm »
I had vans for work for 15 years but decided to switch to an estate car for various reasons, after purchasing the new estate i started to do quotes for the insurance & found out that a large number of insurers do not allow you to carry your NCD from a van to a car. Eventually after a lot of pissing around i got insured through RAC which did/do allow for NCD to be carried over.

As we all know, with insurance it's all about bending over & biting the pillow.

The "axle covers" are fork sliders/crash bungs to protect the forks in the event of an off.

Good on yer bud, i myself am at a certain age & have to avoid open top cars as i wear a toupee & an eye patch, plus i would have to keep my gob shut at all times as the wind would blow my false top set out.  :thumbup

I hope you're as young & as good looking as that car bud as there is nothing worse than seeing a wrinkly old scrotum sac of an old fella driving an open top piece of fanny bait like that. ;)

Iv'e worn varifocal glasses for the last four years & i also wear multifocal contact lenses for work & for me they both work a treat. Can wear either riding bike no problem. There is another alternative, a friend of mine has just had lens replacement surgery, £3000 per eye & he has the vision back he had in his twenty's.

« on: 10 May 2018, 07:05:17 pm »
Ear wax??? i'm a martyr to the feckin stuff, a few years back the need for syringing was getting to be every couple of months or so & as you may know syringing isn't good for the ears so now i have to put olive oil in twice a week otherwise it hardens like bell metal & it's a hammer & chisel job. Failing that i could always open me own candle shop. ;)

It must differ from bike to bike, i have fitted very light bar end mirrors to my thou & it meant that the bar end weights wouldn't re-fit but i have no problem with vibration.
