Hi Limax, i agree  a can of spray paint, not worth the risk of breaking the glass.
Thanks  :)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: HH Sintered Pads changed braking 'feel'

I also fitted EBC HH to replace my old pads, felt very twitchy to start with , but after 200 miles feel very progresive and safe.  They take longer than you think to bed in.
Agree organic on the rear  :lol

I left the wheels with the fitter who just replaced the same size that were already on existing tyre,  having ridden the bike with 120 section for 10 months i have got use to the feel . Cant really take the wheel back as i have put almost 100 miles on today nice ride down to Rye Harbour.
having mixed thoughts on this now.....

FZS600 Fazer / Front Tyre section 120 v 110 ?
« on: 09 March 2014, 04:55:25 pm »
Just found out my Fazer has a 120 section front tyre fitted.  It was on the bike when i got it last year,  went to replace the tyres at the weekend with Road Pilot 2, Figured as i dont know any different ,  have gone for a 120 again feels very secure,  stable and planted
Just wondered if any body else has 120 section tyres fitted , any pros and cons ?

FZS600 Fazer / TO Split Link or not to Split Link ( New Chain kit )
« on: 05 March 2014, 10:58:24 am »
Just bought bought new chain and sprocket kit from Wemoto,  with front sprocket up grade 12mm.
Its a Sifam HD chain and came with a split link link, which is very easy to fit, i know most chains on todays bikes use a soft link which is rivetted on .
Back in the 80's i ran various large capacity bikes with split link running gear with no problems, and most off road riders and moto x racers still use split link for easy cleaning,  has anybody had issues ?  I'm sure Sifam would not be aloud to produce the kit if deemed unsafe .

FZS600 Fazer / Snapped Chain Doh !!
« on: 01 March 2014, 09:07:44 pm »
Manage to break my chain today, should have replaced months ago so no excuses on my part,  Had already bought a chain & sproket kit including the 12mm up grade nut  just did not get round to replacing it in time.
But any ideas as to how to remove the front sproket and nut with no chain attached, Im i going to do any damage if i put it in gear and try to remove nut.
Answers on a post card please..............

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Re-Spray, wrap, or hydrodipping ?
« on: 15 November 2013, 07:15:29 pm »
Thanks for the feed back guys,  Nick when you had the rad ends dipped were they coated after the transfer was applied.

I have found a company in Maidstone who spray a protective coating on after the transfer has been applied,  not sure how tough this would be , but they have been used on car wheels .

Re "poly thread"   excellent rebuild read the thread very skilful not sure i have the necessary patience or skill set , but i thought your engine respray section was really good, intend to copy your example.

FZS600 Fazer / Re-Spray, wrap, or hydrodipping ?
« on: 13 November 2013, 07:33:03 pm »
Part of my winter rebuild is to touch up and improve the paint work, respray is expensive, has any one tried a full wrap or hydrodipping, i have seen some pictures of hydrodipping and it looks really good , not sure how tough the film is.

looking to keep the colour as near to silver as possible  its the fastest colour   :D

FZS600 Fazer / Re: How do you cope with glasses?
« on: 13 November 2013, 07:22:10 pm »
I use glasses all the time , as i returned to biking after a few years away now wearing glasses i found helmet choice made a difference for me.

Tried all the leading brands and settled for AGV,    In the old days i used a spot of washing up liquid rubbed on the lens or visor always worked for me.

FZS600 Fazer / Engine Rattle

Have just bought 2002 version with 30k on the clock, every thing works well very pleased apart from rattle.  Have read on the forum that this seems to be a Fazer issue ?       I am going to sync the carbs and remove and check cam chain tensioner as a starting point.  Is there an idiots guide to removing cam chain tensioner and what should i look out for.  Thanks in advance
