Aprilia RS660. Fills a gap in the market?

I reckon its a real good looking bike. I never understood the logic behind the major players making their supersport bikes so unsuitable for everday road use, and it looks like Aprilia are dropping into the hole left by the big boys with htis one. I hope it sells well, out of my price bracket though.

I think it looks nice enough but I really can't see it selling very well, I'm not sure there's really any demand for this kind of bike anymore. Especially not from an Italian brand that has only has 1 dealership per country haha
I used to love the old aprilias but not so much if a fan these days. I've often contemplated a Tuono but just can't get on with a V4
But you give me and Rs250 any day of the week 🤩

 Yeah it is interesting.  Remember when sportsbikes used to have a practical side to them?


This could be ideal.  Sporty but not extreme riding position.  It has a good meaty mid-range.    I find all the ‘rider aids’ a turn off though, and I’d want to disable the quick shifter and auto blipper – if poss.  Just give me an on/off switch.  ABS and traction control in the background is nice. But I have foc all interest in scrolling through endless menu’s playing with ‘tech’ or ‘rider aids’. 



Maybe I’m just getting old.

For matching wheels, you’d have to get the yellow one then. That comes with red wheels. Both of them

Only if you spend a fortune speccing all that shite. 



I went for active suspension, heated grips, cruise control, LED daytime lights, centre stand and luggage rack.  You know, stuff that is actually useful.  I added an SC Project end can too - didn't like the offical BMW Akra.



You can spec the dynamic pack, quick shifter/auto blipper.  Then you can tweak your throttle response, traction control and cornering ABS – you have endless options and a great opportunity to mess it all up.  I just switch it on and ride it.


Oh talking of switching it on, mine has a key, another thing I didn’t spec was keyless ignition.  Which is another favourite topic on the Beemer forum – keyless ignition issues and recovery services.    Glad I didn’t tick that box.

If you hadn't have specced Active Suspension, what would the bike have been delivered with. Inactive Suspension?

I was just happy that tyres the weren't optional.  BMW make their money by making everything an option.
