If the jogger was a loved one of mine I would be very unhappy with this.

Some f*****g mitigating circumstances! What next? :eek

ah hear thats fucked up , prison would do her the world of good ,prob lose the weight and in turn save HER life ,discrace off scott free so :rolleyes
-
Also why did it take a jury 3 days of deliberation.
Fine don't send her to prison send her to boot camp instead that would be harder for the fat cow.
-
She should have thought about that before she ran the red light , i have nearly been hit myself in the last few weeks whilst jogging .
-

Of course our thoughts are based on a limited report, that said, I would how many of the jurors had in the past gone though a red light?
-
She has broken the law on at least two counts.
1 Ran a red light.
2 Failed to inform the DVLA and her insurance company of a medical condition.
A custodial sentence will not do her any harm. I would be very surprised if she puts on weight on a prision diet.
I fecking didn't.
Bang her up for six months and ban her from driving for 10 years.
-
I wrote a small letter to my local newspaper years ago, because nearly every other day on the way to work a bus would more than blatantly jump a red light near where i live at a busy crossroads.
The reporters were obviously on a slow week 'cos they not only checked it out for themselves but confirmed what i was saying and made a big thing about it a week later.
Red lights are there for a reason, to control and help avoid accidents, if you jump them then you're a twat, risking lives in the process.
Being fat is a poor excuse for any wrongdoing in my opinion, especially driving like a c**t.
-
Bus wankers :wall
-
If she can fit behind the wheel of a car she can fit in a jail cell! Disgraceful!!! :grumble
OK everyone, let's get really fat and rob a bank, they won't do anything and we can buy lots of Fazers!

I got it --- I got it - the perfect crime - we could rob a cake and pie shop
-
send her down, bread and water will see the weight fall off her
she'll probably get a slap on the wrist, nothing surprises me anymore

can't find any evidence in report to back up no.2 :rolleyes

"She is a person for whom a prison sentence would be extraordinarily difficult and I don't think I exaggerate when I say she might not get through it."
This would be because she couldn't get out for a KFC or order a pizza whenever she wanted.
I would put money on the fact that we (the tax payers) paid for her car too. I would bet it was a motability car paid for with her motability benefit to help her be mobile enough to get to KFC whenever she needs a snack.

Motorists killing and avoiding jail is more common than you'd think. This is from yesterday (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-33188074).
Then there are many many cases (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,11539.msg124410.html#msg124410) where drivers have ploughed into some poor sod but are cleared because of low sun / poor visibility / wet roads etc.
And then there are cases (http://www.kentonline.co.uk/deal/news/van-driver-cleared-of-causing-33772/) where a jury of drivers have cleared another driver even though the evidence so obviously points to death by dangerous driving.
Oh what's the point.
-
Your more likely to go to prison for not paying taxes and committing fraud against insurance companies , remember the Canon Man than you are for killing somebody .

that would of course be skinny tax payers on account all fat bastards are too busy keeping fast food joints in business to waste time earning a living;)

I will honestly say, as you just reminded me of an incident years ago, i was coming back from a studio in Bow and it had previously been raining, and when i got to the Paddington flyover the sun suddenly shone so bright it hit the wet road and blinded me so badly i almost fell off the bike.
I went from about 60mph (honest) to about 15mph, it was either that or just shut my eyes and hope for the best.
To this day i've never experienced anything like it ever again, but i would presume it's a regular occurrence in that exact spot of road every now and then.
-
I've had one similar experience when I was driving on the M4 between Newport and Cardiff - low Autumn sun just caught the road perfectly that it was almost impossible to see the cars ahead (thankfully the traffic was only moving at about 10 MPH due to roadworks
The view out of the rear view mirror was spectacular though - incredibly high contrast between the dark shadows and intense orange from the sunset

A driver has been found guilty of killing a biker down here (http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/13343664.Driver_found_guilty_of_causing_popular_Hampshire_motorcyclist_s_death/?ref=fbshr)
Hopefully the Judge will see fit to lock the idiot up...
-
Good and bad news:
Good news, she's gone to jail!
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/ashford/news/obese-death-crash-driver-jailed-38934/ (http://www.kentonline.co.uk/ashford/news/obese-death-crash-driver-jailed-38934/)
Bad news, our plan of getting fat, robbing a bank and then buying lots of fazers because we'll never get sent down has taken a turn for the worst......

Of course not.

Yeah :(
As I commented on that: If you want to kill someone, don't bother shooting or stabbing them, just run them down with a car and claim you were distracted and you'll get off with a slap on the wrist :thumbdown
