bt23s need replacing what are the current recomendations ,
always found these ok but there are newer tyres about since i fitted these 4 years 12k ago
i need a good all rounder with good milage ,

I'd stay as you are to be honest. I have a BT023 on the front and the T30 on the rear.
T30 is very good but by no means cheap, and I'm very happy with the deep tread up front, so I'll probably buy BT023's in the future if they're still available.
The grip on both are quite faultless in my opinion.

I've been running Avon Storm 2 on my 600 which were fine but I have a pair of Roadsmarts which will probably be fitted later this year.

I had pilot road 3s fitted in January and had managed to get down to 1/4" 'chicke on the back by February, commuting 10 miles a day. (It took me ages to do that on my bt023s) Great wet and dry grip. £30 more expensive to fit than the Bridgestones (which aren't a bad tyre either)
Well that sounds like a definitive response...

I had the BT023's on mine when I got it and have since changed to Road Pilot 2 as the RP's are better in wet(I live in Manchester)
These are top notch tyres and I hear the 3's are even better, so will probably move to them when it's time.

I've been getting on well with some Metzelers. Got a Z6 on back, went on July 2013 and has done about 12k. Bit squared off, but still a couple of mm of tread left. On the front I have a Z8, which went on about a year ago, done around 7K and has plenty of tread left. Both have given me decent grip. Z8 was definitely an improvement on Z6, albeit around £20 more expensive.

I fitted a pair of Metzeler Z6 to the bike before the tour last August. they have done about 4000 miles so far and are still good. The rear has maybe the same again and the front looks new. Wet grip is good as long are your ok not getting your knee down, and the dry grip you can scrape the pegs (I can't, but in theory  ).


They were a really good price too, as the Z8 is the new model.

There are PR4's now, which are supposed to grip just as well but last even longer than the PR3's.


I've got one on the rear and have had no issues with it yet, but not done any decent mileage on it yet. 


Front is a PR3 and has done just over 13K, but is due to be replaced soon.  Had 2 PR3's on the rear, both were squaring off a bit after 7K but both punctured before getting to know the total life span from them.

I've always had Continental Contimotion on my fazer, mainly because that's what was on it when I bought it and they've been changed at different times front and back.  I've got no idea how they rate compared to other tyres (or if I'd notice the difference!), but doesn't seem to be a choice many people go for.  Only just done the back, but when it goes next time I may switch both for anything recommended to be better.

how much....you was ripped off    I had contis on my zzr600...they were horrid in the wet....m used to use dunlop d208, s on my gsx1400.. I have BT 023 on my fazer and they seem pretty good.
