changing the subject a bit , what is the best thing to put on the plug threads then ? also is it not good putting copper slip on ex-up valve for the same reason as plugs again if so what's best to use ?

i usually have water at hand ( incase of any spill's ) as brake fluid is water soluble and hose off the calipers after i've finished to wash away any residue  :)

been using the roadsmarts on my Fazer and XJR1300 for a while now , can't fault them , maybe slightly less mileage than PR2's but i wouldn't swap back , the Dunlop's suit my riding with a neutral feeling whereas the Pirrelli's tend to "fall in" on bends ,just my two pennith's worth .  :thumbup

Cool, thanks for the tips guys. Just got home now and had a look in the dark and I reckon that with a bit of daylight, time and patience i'll be able to pry the seat up enough to get my hand in the gap to fish about for the key.

If not, i'll see what I can do with the undertray.

Cheers
Brace
magnet tied to string or something ?

if it helps i asked the same quetion to the guys at Bike Torque Racing Ltd and they said standard springs are fine , that was with a Surflex clutch kit which is allegedly much better than an OE clutch ?

yeah that helps loads thanks , but from the description the first spring plate the outer should be facing away from the seat the diagram does not show that ( No.1 ) but the second plate does (No.2 ). a little confusing or am i being dull ?

Can't do it but its page 5-42, shows a section through middle of clutch assembly, PM me if you still struggling.
thanks for helping on this , your description does make sense all except the first spring washer which is not flat it also has a slight concave shape , which is where the problem starts , do they sit like spoons or opposing each other and if so which way round do they oppose each other if you know what i mean  :o
cheers guys

Hi guys , i'm after some help again  :rolleyes  , i have just bought a new clutch complete (steels & friction plates) as my old one was dragging alot and appeared to be a mix and match affair (previous owners ? ) now the problem i have is because someone else has been in there before me i do not know if the 2 small rings ( clutch boss spring and seat )are facing the correct way as they are slightly curved also which way around do the steels face as they have one face that is very slightly rounded , it does not show on the parts manual and i have no Haynes , any help gratefully accepted  :)
cheers Jeff
