.be carefull when taking the downpipes off, the studs in the head break/strip easy and are a bit harder to fix than your sump.....

Yes search the forum on that subject first. (good heads up Red ) downpipe studs

NECRO - rise from the dead thread!

Thought I'd bring this one back and post a final update.

It wasn't  until i got to this post that I realised it was old.
Well done for coming back with your long term report, so often i am reading old posts for a problem and the poster has not come back with the results of the help

I went 1 down on the front and 1 up on the rear. It makes quite a difference. My riding style is obviously the polar opposite of yours, as I love to ping it about and care not for MPG and motorways. If I have to use the motorway, I'll take the SAAB. But my point is, one tooth at the front either way will make a noticeable difference. If that is done with a change at the rear, it will make a significant difference.
I like the sound of this

When I said an EU thing I was referring to a bike like mine where the lights are dual use, left on for uk and right on for EU I modded mine to both come on - dipped but the right lens still points to the right slightly just like the left points to the left ( kerb). So the EU thing for my bike boxeye is just an easy swap for the manufacturer in that they can use the same light - fairing set for all countries left on uk - right on EU.
I am not sure about the foxeye but I think it came with both lights on and with no left or right leaning to contend with

No That is not what I was trying to say, and after i saw middens post with the wink I thought oh yeh its just the bulb so i edited it

2 piece leathers for me, never had textile but then again I don't do rain, Hein Garicke outlander  (think its outlander ) jacket and dannisport leather on me legs, jacket has removable armer in back/ shoulders/ elbows. Trousers have it in knees and hips (removable), trousers have a textile stretch crotch area mmmmmm nice. And also behind the knees.

Thanks for the help so far
I understand about all the exit pupil info and stuff and narrow angle of view, looks like the spotting scope idea is not as versatile as binos
I do also understand the quality of a zoom would not be as good as a fixed but I am using at the moment a vintage Pathescope 16x50 so I wonder if a modern zoom would still be better,
Is there a good make other than Bushnell lica  and all of those I should look at.
They would need to be x16.

What about these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5800755.htm

General / Binoculars/spotting scope help
« on: 17 January 2015, 12:42:59 pm »
Who knows anything about binoculars or spotting scopes, I have got a vintage pair of binos 16x50 but the quality is crap and they weigh a ton.
I were glasses and when searching for a subject to then look at through the binos I have to have my glasses on then take them off to use the binos, but then I cant find the subject due to the x16 power,
so are zoom binos any good,
What make
And what about a spotting scope as they have good power and are zoom.
And my main use for them would be to see things that are far away !! So I mean everything like "ohh is that a blue tit"---- no its a cheese and oinion chrisp packet, or Is that a ryan air plane, or looking at the occasional astronomical object  -- and so on.
Oh and I don't want to spend much dosh either as they wont get used much.

Any ideas

I wish I could drink whiskey -- all those different flavor notes. BUT I can not stand the stuff ever since I was 14 and me and a mate raided his dads drinks cabinet - whiskey with coke/ lemonade/orange/ milkshake/ tooth paste.

I used the same number plate mounting holes in the mud guard and so needed a new number plate, I could of used the same plate but then it would of had 2 extra holes. The new reflector is bolted to the bottom of the mud guard with a short straight  bracket.

Fazer sharp .. you not a fan of the handebar mirrors ?  I'm not sure Wether to leave or not ... Not keen at all on the standard mirrors.
Iv done abit of searching for seat cowl and not found anything for fzs600. .. just something to neaten up the number plate and rear indicators.

I think the mirrors just look ugly and a bit silly and stick out too much for filtering, like I said I had a seat cowl and it just made it look fat and messy at the back, the oppisit of what I was trying to do, s simple way to tidy up the back is to raise the numberplate over the reflector and cut off what mudguard is showing and add  a reflector poking out underneath the numberplate, I also never put back the grab rail after taking it off for the cowl

Hey, iv been a member since just before Xmas and iv done abit of trawling through the site to see what mods people have done to there bike wondered what mods people would or wouldn't advice and offer help and ideas on stuff.
I want to do a few things to my bike and have made a little list and wondered what you on here though

•Tinted double bubble. Looks better biut does nothing for wind blast
•Remove standard mirrors and fit some handlebar mirrors.Better to Live with the view of your eblow that to fit those
•Tail tidy ... although iv come to realise there isn't a tail tidy specific to the fzs600 If you mean a seat cowl I had one but it looked rubbish - you take off the grab rail and it fits with those bolts
•End cans .. iv heard good and bad about both delkevic and simmi both look good and are within my budget. Still got the OEM
•Pod air filter ... considered but since looking into it unsure as to if it's worth it ?? NO
...

Eventually I hope to remove the fairing and replace with MT01/03 headlight ... I Love the naked Look! But that will probably be saved for next winter. Wait untill you chuck it down the road as that is how most end up  street fighted
Any advice much appreciated.

Loud horn
Bradied hoses
Fit a hugger - thats good, eeeerm thats about it (for me anyway ) you can gues that I am not a big modder but others are and they will tell you different, I think the fazer is perfect the way it is

Noticed a screw was missing from one of the caps on the engine. Started looking for screw. did not find screw. got angry.
What a fun day.......

Ah that would be the screw fairy at work again, they hide them. We all have them.

If you have crash bars that would be a good place for them.
I have always been weary of buying things on ebay from china, and what about import tax and all that malarky, and if its a dud its too expensive to send back.
Also how waterproof are they

http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/mirror-extensions-sw-motech-yamaha-fzs-1000-fazer-01-05

Thats the exact thing I was thinking I could make to inprove the view, but was not sure how I would do it - very interesting that someone has done it but £40 is almost a set of R1 mirrors.
How out there can knock these out at £10 a pair for the buyer to paint.

And if you are still too wide the additional mod is to turn the joint around so the mirrors have a lower flatter angle. Luke/ Devilsyam sold me a set and they were a big improvement

Whats that then I dont get it, is that with the FZS OEM mirrors or the R1 ones
