FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Rear seat cowl« on: 25 November 2013, 12:25:41 am »This in my opinion is the best seat cowl on the market. Not to sure on price so the best bet would be to send them a e mail. They should put you on to a UK dealer then you could put a order in after pricing one up. 4

FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Seat lock seized - ideas?« on: 13 November 2013, 12:06:25 am »I had exactly the same problem last winter. you need to get under the bike. As Ive got Scorpion exhaust it's real easy to get at the catch that is holding the seat in place. You need to use a long thin screwdriver to push / slide the mechanism to release the seat. So anybody that rides in damp wet conditions is going to suffer this problem as the seat lock mechanism is exposed when you install aftermarket exhaust cans and is going to seize, so it's important to give this area some regular attention . Hope this helps. 8
General / Disgusting Behaviour!!« on: 21 July 2013, 08:58:12 am »
Todays bike ride ended up with some absolutely disgusting behaviour which I saw on the beach. I was on the seafront and saw a man and a woman having an almighty argument in front of loads of kids, suddenly the woman smacked the guy in the head and it all kicked off. There was a massive brawl and someone called the police. This poor copper turned up on his own and took his baton to the man, the guy managed to snatch it off him and began assaulting the copper AND his wife! Then out of nowhere a crocodile crept up and stole all the sausages!!..........

General / Re: Blowout« on: 07 June 2013, 11:29:13 pm »British Standards for puncture repairs A British standard exists for motorcycle tyre repairs (BSAU159f), which determines the strength of the repair and where it can and can’t be made in the Being a British Standard, it is a recommendation only, and not the law. BSAU159f states that no repairs are allowed in the sidewalls (these flex continuously and a repair is likely to fail), and the standard says repairs are not allowed on high speed Z-rated tyres. It says a tyre must be inspected by an expert for secondary damage (a nail which punctures the tread might also damage the sidewall inside), run-flat damage (determined by a darkened or marbled appearance inside the sidewall), exposed cords and so on. Michelin, however, is the only manufacturer that recommends that its Z rated tyres can be repaired in accordance with the previous BSAU159e. Repairs can only be made in the centre of the tread area, to within 25% of each side of the centre line. Only two repairs per tyre are allowed up to the J (62mph) speed rating, and one up to the V (over 130mph with 155mph maximum) speed rating. Up to the J rating, repairs no bigger than 6mm are allowed, and up to the V rating only up to 3mm is allowed. All repairs must be carried out with a mushroom-type plug, which fits into the puncture hole from the inside and bonds with the tyre by vulcanisation. Anything else and the BS says the tyre must be chucked. If your tyre repairer says the same and quotes similar reasons, he’s being honest. 11
General / Re: Blowout« on: 06 June 2013, 08:02:25 pm »U mean tyre off the rim or puncture? Puncture 3/8 drill bit straight through centre of tread hit inside of wheel then bent over. Blimey are you ok? how fast were you going etc? Very lucky just came from a 60 down to a 30 then bang. How big's the hole? The hole was 10 to 15 mm ,tyre fitter says 3mm max for a plug. 13

Noticed on there website you can't order that one on line anymore, but it does say in store only. The only problem now is they closed the one near to where I live, so still looking. 16

Thanks guys, for the feedback, got the tank bag, tail pack etc but need a small backpack like I said don't seem to do the Hein Gericke one now which was perfect. Had a look round yesterday but did not get fixed up as most none motorcycle rucksacks don't have a waist/chest strap to keep the bag tight. If I don't get fixed up I will probably look on line for one.
Cheers Phil. :-) 18
Hi guys, I have had numerous rucksacks for work but find most are to big. I used to have a medium sized one from Hein Gericke but they don't seem to make the one that I normally have anymore. This bag used to be a similar Shape to the hump on the back of leathers, so I was wondering what kind of rucksack you guys could recommend.
Cheers Phil. 19
Introduction / Re: Hello there« on: 06 May 2013, 05:47:16 pm »wey hey we've got a fazer doing a summersault going on there.(actually just seen you corrected it) i cant talk though as most of my recent pics were going up sideways. Thanks for the welcome guys, the pic with the tank protector is around three years old and I don't have this any more. The other pics are more recent so this is what the bike looks like at the moment. Thanks noggythenog for the info will take a good look round when I've got more time. Like I've said had the bike over six years now so might have come a cross a few probs which I would could share with people on this forum, but saying that I'm not that good with mechanics. Introduction / Hello there« on: 03 May 2013, 10:44:07 pm »
Hi all, just thought that I would introduce my self to the forum. My name is Phil, and have owned my FZ6 S2 for over six years. I have had this bike from new and still love every minute on it. It's a 07 reg and I have made one or two changes along the way, like new pipes, belly pan, seat cowl etc. Will try and post some pics of my bike later, when I get used to the forum.
Many thanks Phil.
