I'm sure someone on here has one of these "riderscan" mirrors. Anyone tried it ?

not tried one of those but my concern with that would be when your riding with the sun anywhere behind you that it would reflect back into your vision & actually be more distracting, only my thoughts but could be wrong!

Hi Robbo
Glad you made it down, it never got heaving but was a steady flow all day!

the weather defo helped as we managed stayed outside until "closing" time :D
hope you had nice time and had a chance to chat to some of our guys look over our merch stand & rum locker.

there is food available (from bar)

General / Re: Recommending Russ's Tyres in Portsmouth!

Nowhere near me for tyres but wanted to say that although I don't particularly like cruisers.......I love the Nightstorm with it's twin lights, black paint and it just looks "right". If I was ever to get a cruiser then Triumph would see my money.

Any pics to post ?

I have this one that I took at a shipmates funeral

General / Recommending Russ's Tyres in Portsmouth!
« on: 08 October 2018, 02:26:36 PM »
if anyone near PO postcode looking for new tyres I can recommend Russ.

rang him Thursday for new tyres, took his suggestion of Avon's (for my Triumph NightStorm)
he sent me a text Friday midday letting me know they had arrived, and hour & half later I was back on the road (after he had sorted an issue with brakes which couldn't have been spotted without taking the rear wheel out!
Full set of Avons fitted for £236 all in, which about price for a rear other brand
(Protyres were asking £55+vat for fitting as its a cruiser!)

he only fits bike tyres and whilst I was there he had a constant stream of punters with all makes & kinds of bike!

only downside is there isn't a coffee machine  :lol (however there is a Maccy D's just down road)

Is that 70ish mph or years :lol . Old guys rock :thumbup .

70 in number bikes!
of course we stuck to legal speed limits :D
as for age I couldn't possibly comment as some look older that they actually are, I'm 52 but haven't weathered well! (our oldest club member is 77!)

Welcome Lee

you will find most people on here helpful and there is a wealth of knowledge on lots of subjects (not just bike related)

there is an old adage that the only daft question is the one that isn't asked.. however as this is a large forum there are often differing opinions which make interesting debates!

out of interest I have just checked to see if my bike would be charged (Triumph Thunderbird Nightstorm) but when I put the reg in it came up with my old bike (CBF1000) that I transferred the number off prior to selling it!)

wonder what would happen if I rode in and then got a ticket and I challenged it as it isn't the bike they thought it was! (as my NIPS post proves DVLA have correct bike for that plate)
