General / Re: Goretex or leathers?
« on: 19 June 2018, 11:34:39 AM »
my 2 pence worth!

I'd go Gortex simply if it does get wet it will dry quicker and nothing worse than pulling damp leather on!
plus by the time you realise its raining & get waterproofs over them you are already damp!

hope it wasn't nicked!!
lots of bikes been stolen from that area lately, seems it could be a targeted area!

1st MOT not due till July Dealer has agreed to MOT early, would the date be actual date it is carried out or can they date it a month in advance ie June?

General / Re: Taxing a bike/refund of tax
« on: 20 April 2018, 09:21:40 AM »
sold me bike today and got a Pan, it's my understanding that the tax ends at point of sale and you tell DVLA who will refund if applicable.

Quote
When you buy a vehicle, the tax or SORN doesn’t come with it. You’ll need to get new vehicle tax before using the vehicle.

You’ll need the reference number on your new keeper supplement (V5C/2).

You can also tax at your local Post Office® or by calling:

Telephone: 0300 123 4321
Cancel vehicle tax and get a refund

Your vehicle tax is cancelled and you automatically get a refund when you tell DVLA that your vehicle has been:

    sold or transferred

Can't you do it through https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax ? Or is that the one that closes at 7pm?

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/vehicle-tax-changes

like you I use website & thought it is 24/7

When people who meet members of the royal family start laughing histericaly at something they've just said.

Charles appears to be the most amusing. Virtually every time you see him meeting people on telly they are doubled-up with tears of laughter.

Surely they're not THAT funny are they?.

Charlie has a very dry sense of humour!
Andrew's is in the gutter
and both William & Harry have brilliant senses of humour

what's the common denominator... they all served in the forces!!

I just used ProTyres in Portsmouth for cage but they do bikes as well!
not sure on price but service I had from them has been great!
whilst I was waiting bloke brought in rear wheel (from a HD) & left it with them to replace an inner tube and plug a puncture, didn't hear how much TBH
