I'm using repsol rider now and going to switch to roletta T5 next oil change, is it ok? since it's alot cheaper than the repsol.
-
Rotella T5 is intended for use in big diesel engines so will contain more detergents than necessary in a bike engine.
On the plus side: it has plenty of ZDP which is excellent (and largely absent from SL-rated oils onwards) and doesn't have Moly which would make the clutch slip.
If it's a good price I'd happily give it a go.

This post is tagged as 'new', but is 9 months old!...... What the hell is 'Roletta'??? :lol

We are looking for a home builder forum.

Interesting for the source of information for the incoming members.

Detergent heavy, low revving, diesel engine oil, going into very high revving, high tuned petrol motorcycle engine, :eek I think I will give that one a miss.
It might be alright, but, I would not take the chance.
And is it worth the risk saving perhaps 6 or 7 quid on 4 litres of oil, if it was to foc your engine I don't think you will repair it with the money saved. :lol
Shell Advanced 4T for me every time, either Fully Synth or Semi Synth, what ever is on offer at the time.
I change my Oil & Filter at the end of the summer each year, before hibernation, it has usually done about 2 - 2.5 thousand miles.
-
either Fully Synth or Semi Synth,
Begs a question I've wanted to ask. Supposing you've got a spare litre of fully synth and you mix it with semi for an oil change. Is that going to be OK? Assuming they are both 10/40 and the right spec of course.

its not meant to be good practice but shouldnt cause any harm from what ive read
