FZS600 Fazer / jets
« on: 21 August 2014, 12:53:28 pm »
I've stuck a race can on my fazer which makes it sound much more fun but its made a big flat spot early in the revs. Anyone know what jets I can use to get rid of this?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Clutchless upshifting ?
« on: 04 July 2014, 05:32:34 pm »
I've always quick shifted since buying my fazer. Got told about it, trued it, loved it. Its so easy  to  match the revs especially with the gear ratio being very close on a fazer. Keep at it. I always use the clutch for downshifting though. And in town 1-3 is all clutchwork.

Ethanol is the drinkable alcohol. Just for the record I'm only taking the piss about trying other fuel. Not really that stupid although it would be interesting to know if it was possible.

I considered getting the USB one but I opted for the cigarette style then got an adapter socket for USB. That was I can use it for my sat nav etc then I have a normal socket for my air bed pump too. Can't believe they don't come standard to be honest especially on modern bikes cos nobody has a phone that'll last a day anymore

This is what I fitted the rubber cap is awesome but it wasn't bogof when I got mine...bastards.

Just lift the tank though so you can follow the rest of the wiring so it keeps everything neat and secure

Mine looks like it was factory fitted! Seriously its easy. It was a 28mm drill bit. I just took the infil off the bike and drilled it slowly with a battery drill onto a piece of wood. Very easy job to do.

FZS600 Fazer / alternative fuel?

I'm just starting a new job which involves a pay cut so we've had to make a few cut backs. My Mrs suggested I don't ride as much (of course she didn't suggest fucking off her horse!) I'm thinking of getting some spuds and making some moonshine to try or fitting LPG tanks to save cash. Anyone else tried this? Can you fit a gas tank under the seat? Or wound it be better with 2 smaller ones under the fairing infils? Also what percentage alcohol does a foxeye run best on?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: From FZS600 to VFR800 instead of FZS1000?
« on: 12 June 2014, 12:50:02 am »
I wanted a vfr as my first bike but I just can't get used to clip ons. I rode crossers for years and I still love straight bars. I'd say clip ons are awesome at speed but for normal riding I just can't get on with them. I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to the thou next year cos I love my 6 so much its just perfect. I'm only going up a size cos the Mrs wants to tag along a bit and I reckon she'd affect the handling on the 6 to much even though she's a skinny little fucker. Anyone had any experience 2 up on the 6? What's it like?

I agree I fitted mine on the infil panel on the left. Mine comes with an attached rubber cap which fits very snuggly. I'm thinking if fitting on on the other side too now. Never had a problem with the rain but I'm a tart and only go out if the weather man let's me.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: best model?
« on: 28 May 2014, 02:20:32 pm »
Good explanation. Think I'll look at the fzs1000 then. I have fzs600 at the minute and love everything about it. I've had several people come up and say its by far the better bike compared to the new ones so just wanted to make sure. I'm not really that sports biased. I like having a maddun sometimes but after comfort and reliability more than anything as I want to be getting out with a tent on the back and touring too.hate the word touring it makes me think of train spotters, its a bit different ramming round on a bike.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the thou next year and I'm wondering if the older models are better like with the 600's. Would I be better finding a good old one or splash out on a newer one?

Biggest difference I've seen is that the fazer still looks good. The tcat is starting to look very dated.

Are the fzs600 and 1000 levers the same? I can't find Chinese cheapos for the 6 specifically. I'm not really technically minded enough to be doing much more than a straight swap.

FZS600 Fazer / engine oil
« on: 05 May 2014, 10:34:58 am »
I can get fully synthetic 10w40 oil for nothing from work. Is this suitable for my bike? Its used for bull dozers but oil is oil isn't it?

Anyone tried delkevic pipes? I'm thinking of getting the 350mm oval in stainless for my fazer. Are they any good? For 125 quid I fancy giving them a try

The knocking could be my imagination. Got a new exhaust on order. Do fazers sound whiney naturally?

FZS600 Fazer / fazer sound?
« on: 29 April 2014, 08:51:16 pm »
Took my bike into the garage for a knocking sound. They say can't hear that but said it sounds like its whining. Its always done this, especially in 6th. Is this the normal fazer sound or have I got a problem?

« on: 19 April 2014, 09:31:14 pm »
Yeah I have the standard screen on a foxeye. Its not unbearable just wondered if it would improve things with a db. I've seen the touring screens but they just look a bit...you know...train spotter.

FZS600 Fazer / screen help
« on: 19 April 2014, 04:33:10 pm »
I'm a fairly tall rider 6ft 3. My screen seems to direct the airflow right to the center of my helmet. Will a double bubble screen improve this for me? Or any other suggestions?
