Introduction / Re: Hello Fazer, goodbye VFR

Hi everyone, Craig here from Birmingham.

I’ve taken the plunge and decided to chop in my 2000 VFR800Fi for a half faired 2008 Fazer 1000.
Due to collect Monday...

I’m going against the grain really as all my mates are sports bike riders and think I’m a boring sod  for this decision.

Hopefully it won’t let me down!!!!

Any recommendations for sensible mods?

Cheers

Craig

Welcome
I wouldn't worry about your mates and their sportsbikes. What you have there is a 2004 R1 engine with a comfortable seat. Still puts out 150bhp and as mentioned will easily slaughter any 600cc sport bikes when ridden right.
On the road most super bikes would struggle to lose you on anything but a long straight.
I think your mates will soon realise the error of their ways when you've all done a 100+ mile journey but your the only one that can stand straight afterwards haha

Hi,

Couldn’t agree more, and I’ve always found nakeds better on the twistis (which are my favourite types of roads)

Plus I’m a year round biker, that doesn’t have the figure to pull off a leather catsuit on my 35 mile each way commute  :D

A well ridden FZS600 will leave the average power ranger on a sports bike behind. The FZS1000 / FZ1000 are even quicker.

My thoughts exactly, not that I’m claiming to be anything more than your average rider...

Can’t wait now, I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Hi, I am new to the forum.

Have just seen this post and it’s really good to see such a well organised meet-up!

I would definitely have been up for this had I joined a couple of months ago. Definitely next year if you run another  :) .
