I have full monty and there is a very slight hesitancy from tickover to light throttle opening, like a fluffing of the carbs which can be heard in the exhaust, catches me out at the lights if i’m Being lazy wristed.
I read that this symptom is indicative of correct pilot screw settings so i’m  not too bothered, still goes like stink :D

I bought from halfrauds a pair of oil filter pliers, thought these would do the job, but no.
I guess they would be ok if the filter wasn’t so tightly on, lord knows when the filter was replaced.

for the life of me I can’t seem to unscrew my oil filter.
What can I do before I resort to a hammer and screwdriver and possibly foc it for good.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Quickshifter
« on: 23 December 2018, 01:35:13 pm »
quickshifters cut the ignition to each coil via their own pattern but that momentary ignition cut doesn’t mean that the cylinder will have more fuel in it the next time it fires, the unburnt fuel will exit out of the exhaust valves in the normal way.

A quickshifter gives you the ability to change gear without backing off of the throttle, it momentarily cuts the ignition at the coils which unloads the engine and allows you to change gear, up the box not down.
Full power shifts so to speak.

I thought exactly the same when I rode my Fazer thou after a test ride on a bmw s1000xr and bmw R1200R.
The fazer thou is a very good machine.

Am in Surrey.

I have v-trec levers on my thou and it says in the instructions to use the bushings from the originals, they are a good lever, more expensive than cheaper ones but less expensive than expensive ones :D .

Well I’ve managed to snap the heads off of  a couple of my exup housing bolts and most of the thread is left in the housing.
For those who have been there or who know what I need to do now, what do I do now, help!!!! :'(

hi all.
Sorry if this has been done before but if not here’s a question for those who have done it.
When dropping the front forks do I need to loosen the top yoke bolts only or both top and bottom yoke bolts.
Many thanks.

Would like to see a Dyno chart of a stock motor too, quoted power figures are pretty optimistic.

If you read pats cartest web page re the Ivan’s jet kit, it addresses a number of issues with the stock jetting,ie, lean running mid rpms and overly rich running at high rpms along with other issues.
If your Dyno man says it’s running slightly rich as opposed to overly rich then that’s a bonus.
I had my fazer thou pre Ivan’s and had mike install the kit, needles to say it was a big improvement over stock so if I had mine dynoed I wouldn’t be bothered if it were still slightly rich.
I must admit though that I would’ve expected more than 134 bhp and 78 ft lbs of torque, sounds like stock figures.
