its high pressure water with grit in
its a softer approach than typical sandblasting and often better as it gives a smoother more uniform finish


so many people have carbs done this way but i am not a fan as the grit is not soluble and gets everywhere
stripped engines with big holes are fine and can be flushed but carbs should be soda blasted
(just for future refference that last bit - and im looking into starting a soda blasting/ultrasonic service when i get to preston lol)

i snapped 6 out of the 8 as mine were absolutly rusted to shite
its just a head off job not a complete engine drop so its not too bad - the worst part of it for me was getting the airbox and carb out
also the head only wanted to come out in one direction for some reason

btw i see your new too the site - so always look at what commenters/posters ride - celtic rides a fazer8 which is post 2010 which have a different coil system from us old school boys who like to play with carbs and not computers lol
fzs600 does not come with cops - but some have been experimenting with arguable results
self amalgamating tape is just tape that sticks to itself a.k.a TAPE - i would be pissed at any tape that didnt stick to itself,

i wouldnt be suprised if its just your ht leads shorting out
my old chop was missing a rubber cap and started to run like sh*t in the rain and when i went to play with the plugs i got a bit of a shock.
if its fine again tommorow remove each boot and put a smear of silicone around the lead and slide back onto the cap and it will seal it and stop any more water ingress

ok so after a post last week and my bearing issues i thought i would start a ongoing link of bearing sizes
please only post actual sizes no jokes etc unless you KNOW a post is inaccurate
please add the year of your bike as although it is likely the same a quick check through fowlers will tell you if its the same part code
- i am a big fan of SKF bearings and would advise that is the route to go

Rear wheel bearings  - 6204 2RS

Sprocket carrier bearing - 6206 2RS  - mine had a 6206RS which is only one seal and it truely shit the bed

What gets me with the Chinese stuff is that they seem to go overboard with the low low cost and as a result produce "some" real crap in terms of fit and or materials. Take those inlet rubbers at £15 - what's wrong with another £10 on to and be able to produce twice the quality, £25 still very cheap. People on here have also had fitting issues with Chinese radiators.     

i think i read that the outlet pipes are at the wrong angle or something - if its just the carb warming pipe thats wrong then i will be laughing as i will just have them tig welded over as i dont use the carb warmers on mine i just bypassed them as the pipes were bunged full of crap and was on and off with the carbs all the time

i say clicking but what i really mean is an unnerving clunking and as the last chain flung its link i am not taking that risk again as i was only doing about 20 at that time but 5 mins earlier was racing a mate at 110+ (close call much)

easiest way to check them is start the bike let it idle and then spray the inlet rubbers with brake cleaner if thee revs go up they are leaking if not they are good , and punk mine were tarted up with what looks like rubber paint never had any problems so far so im not overly concerned the cracks on most are only on the surface

could just give them a clean with some black to black or dash cleaner

and i wasnt shouting i just hit caps lock last night while drunk apparently

6200 is a code for a specific bearing - a ball bearing bearing
if the stamped code is for the bearing then a 2663 would be be a roller bearing
just ask your local supplier for a 6200 open bearing and you should be fine
(just put it in your freezer before fitting as it shrinks it)
