easily one of the nicest fz1 on the road with the exceptional colour scheme, with nice sensible mods owned by dedicated enthusiast
20bhp up on stock but feels like alot more,.... test drive similar age r1 this is as quick. runs perfect ..
hpi clear 3 owners
brand new mot sailed through tax till jan 2015
mods
de cat mid pipe carbon akrapovic tail bmc air cleaner 300 ish miles old (fitted) with air box mod r and g tail tidy ,stock tail included and spare numberplate
d211 dunlop 190/55/ sticky rear tyre near as new continental contimontion front has 1000 miles left on it , there a match made in heaven and can recommend these two tyres enough 19000 miles on clock but bike looks runs and rides like 1000! except a microscopic nic in the paint on the tank that you will struggle to see

I always been on the 1000, gen 2 first non superbike ive had, and i think i may be converted, certainly open a few eyes in the fast group at brands on stock suspension..
nearly got the 150 at the back wheel, prob a month away now all mods done except the actual re flash..
turns out nitron sent the wrong bracket....it does fit on the left hand side foot rest hanger

just go test ride 1, simples,
i come from gsxr 1000k6 to a gen 2 and am full ivanising at the moment and suspension after that,
i brought mine cos my mrs did not like ballistic gsxr1000 rides cos pillions to high,
i find the gen 2 really comfortable i got a home made 1/4 turn quick action throttle too, by far the best mod so far and only a few pence to make,
i really starting to enjoy mine now im appreciating it for what it is rather than wanting it to be some thing else, just about to tour europe for few days two up too on it inc nurenberg ring...its a true all rounder

im looking at buying the £500 track shock very soon, but ive found very little reviews on them, im gonna keep the box etc and resell it when i get rid of the bike,
the standard shock is dire and well past its sell buy date, im adding the 190/55 tyre to when i change the shock as my rear tyres shot too, i recently did a fast group at brands and did well but was lacking grip when exiting corners,,
would love to hear from nitron users both good and bad reviews

phone michael in the work shop at ktech, he will rebuild and refurb your stock for for about 2oo with correct spring and oil, or go for the up grade on stock fork for about 450. he can rebuild the rear too, some people say its sealed and not possible he assured me this is not the case the rear was 140
these prices are tailor made refurbs for your weight and usage requirements if the shocks are pre removed from the bike
i was instantly offered a 10% discount too,
im getting my forks done soon for the up graded front, and a 2 way nitron shock, i dont fancy the r1 up grade, michael assured me its not nessercary if you up grade the front its more than capable of fast circuit use, and to be honest im already doing fast track days on knackerd stock shocks so i imagine the differance will be great,
ktech are suberb

youll be amazed at the perfectly good uses wd 40 has i clean all sorts with it.. it cuts through grease and crud better than any detergent ive ever used
spray in to a rag and wipe your chain ready to re lube is also another ace use
cleaning of "grease/lube fling" of the body work from the chain is a sinch too, not to mention a superb wheel and brake dust cleaner, NOTE not the brakes just the dust off the wheels

Different.
Depending on the year, the R1 forks are fully adjustable.
I just ditched my FZ1 forks for 08 R1 forks for the adjustability.
thats correct hi and slow speed damping too the fz1 forks are very soft very basic and only have the most basic of adjustment compression in one leg and rebound in the other, my pal will not believe it though, MATT YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE CHUMP

« on: 20 February 2014, 06:29:53 pm »
I say the fz1 forks are totally different to r6 and r1, i know they are, but just to settle the arguement,........
my pal recons from the factory the fz1 comes with r6 forks, i say the 25 year old puppy should stick to his old c90 and bandit 600 i recon they share no similar parts and are completely different, although they can be easily made to fit

I am down in Kent right now and a guy doing some work on my brother's house recomended Tagg racing in Ashford. Anyone had any dealings? They are ment to be good at set ups and also dyno work. Was tempted to get my sag set up front and rear as its a bitch to do on your own LOL
care full there part of laguna maidstone and although there ok if things go right they will wipe there hands of you when they dont take your money and run BEWARE...BE VERY AWARE, they done me for £1300 and a gsxr 1000k6, supposed to do a mastercylinder replacement as a V.O.S.A safety recall (shoulda been free) and i never saw my bike ever again until my neighbour eventually brought it from the salvage company. it was damaged them salvaged by them, then salvage co sold it to my Neighbour, Id avoid all the bike shops under the LAGUNA MAIDSTONE BANNER, as there all the same there well over priced too at least 30% just do your reasearch on this group of bike shops the amount of complaints about them on the net is crazy there are 1000s if you look hard enough to find them
