For Sale & Wanted / Re: FZ1 Lennon's Mirror Eliminators
« on: 18 May 2019, 04:54:41 pm »
I've got two threads to look thru:

http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146853

http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146337

and some photos of the process: Design worked with a Romer 3d scanner, and designed in Solidworks 2019. Printed using Shapeways, in either New York, or Eindhoven Netherlands...

Cheers.

scanned a fairing in 3d

draw on top of the scan data to make the mirror delete plate

finish up the concept, and order half a dozen different prints over the next six months...

and end up with these:

I just released them for sale in the US a little over a month ago, and have gotten good feedback so far. One customer paint matched his set, and it turned out looking nice.

Let me know if anyone has any questions.  :D

Cheers

For Sale & Wanted / FZ1 Lennon's Mirror Eliminators
« on: 18 May 2019, 04:40:38 pm »
Morning - I made my first few posts in the 'Introduction' forum, and wanted to share these too.

My name is Mark Lennon, and I'm a packaging designer by trade. I also happen to love our fazers. This past year, I picked up a '09 faired FZ1, and began designing my own mirror block off plates. Over the past 8 months or so....I've gotten them to a point where I'm happy, and have began selling them online thru a 3d print house called Shapeways.

I've got a thread made over on the US forum (FZ1OA) but thought it'd be in my interest to reach out over here too. I didn't see any vendor forums or anything, so if a moderator says this isn't the right spot to post, please let me know.

I'll post a few photos below. Some of the 3d design process, some printed parts, and some parts other users have ordered, and painted...

Cheers. Mark

Hi Jointbreaker and welcome to the forum......thats one of the best introductions I have seen on here , great pics aswell   :thumbup

Cheers. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome 🍻 Gotta say the wheels on that Gen 2 are Stunning!! Im guessing they are aftermarket and not from another bike, any idea which ones they are?

I bought the Gen2 mostly how it sits. The wheels are Carrozzeria forged wheels, anodized in "Wine Red." I need to finish my touches on this bike, and get better pictures. :)

Cheers.

and the "new to me" bike

When I bought this bike, I didn't really care for any of the options available for covering up the mirror holes in the fairing...So I designed my own.

I'll add more info about those in the future, but just wanted to say hey. Love these bikes, and can't picture myself riding anything else right now. I spent a heck of a lotta money on a vstar 1100, which I think may be called Dragstar's across the pond...

Here's all three bikes together. I'm lucky and have a woman in my life that's ok with this obsession. :P hah.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I live in the USA, an hour west of Chicago Illinois. I'm a cruiser guy that's since been converted to the Fazer life. :)

I started out with a FZS1000 back in 2014, in the fastest blue/black combination. It came with a Givi rear rack and box. I've since done a few things to it: 08R1 forks, the rest of the Givi luggage racks, retrofitted HID projectors in the stock headlights, bar end mirrors, a couple different seats, tank grip pads, Devilsyam frame plugs...that sort of thing.

This past winter, I ended up with a FZ1 as well, with the retro graphics bodykit. It's got a full Ivans package w/PCV, Mivv exhaust with gutted stock header. Soon to replace that with an Arrow header I have in the garage. Speedscreen, with more bar end mirrors, and a few other goodies on that bike too.

I'll share a few photos below.
