Yup thats it - if you are replacing old fluid and as anutz is doing spending some money on new pistons and seals whats the point in keeping 17 year old rubber hoses Easy two finger braking now ------------- leaving two fingers spare for hand signals 5004

Go for the HEL ones direct from Hel as you will get a discount from being on this forum
Do you see that long bolt next to the washers -- it is a double banjo bolt to hold two banjo ends at the master cylinder (leaver) and then each of the two lines gos to each caliper, left and right and you then do away with the bridging bar under the yokes, so no orig rubber will be left The origional system is a 3 line one, at the front 5006

FZS600 Fazer / Re: brake fluid bleeding problems« on: 09 May 2015, 10:32:00 am »Only open bleed screw as far as it needs to be to pass fluid, it might only be half a turn and you might feel a lot of pressure at the pedal to achieve this. Even if it's a one way bleed tube i always nip up the screw ( just enough, not fully ) while the pedal is still moving. That sounds good advice I had exactly the same issue when I did my front so I gave up in the end and tightened hopfully not too much ( was quite tight in the end ) and then it stopped 5012

I never knew what that hose was thought it was some sort of breather.
The rubbers look fine --- in that nothing to worry about yet as they are only very fine cracks and will need to get much much worse before the cracks are all the way through 5018

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Brake Caliper Pistons« on: 08 May 2015, 02:57:40 pm »
I suppose if red grease will protect just as well then best to be safe, I just get the impression that red grease is not as robust in staying where you put it as copper grease would be as it is made for assembly, just thinking rubber grease is sort of transulant/ watery - not quite and dosent seem like it would stand up to the weather.
And if other grease is a no no with rubber - how come you pack rubber gatered joints on your car with non red rubber grease 5021

Yes I have seen excess slowly creep up too, and always factor this in when getting quotes.
I never knew that about summer quotes - mine is in October, I wonder if it is worth while for those hit by summer quotes to go for a 6month one then 12 even though you will not be adding another year NCB in doing so, is that right that if you only insure 6 months a year you dont gain NCB 5022

Like has been said the bad bit is outside of the seals so I cant see a problem, rather than red grease (after fitting) would copper grease be better on those ends that are constantly exposed to keep rust at bay now that the chrome has been removed.
Why dont they make them from stainless steel is it just cost. 5025
