That's about it - not too desperate as I have a red one I bought for the manky bike I've now got rid of, but would prefer silver to colour match my present bike.

Bought all these bits for my black Fazer that I gave up on, so now for sale as not needed for the silver one. Centre stand - surface rust in places but works fine, complete with mounting bolts and spring.  Untitled by d.a.thornber@btinternet.com, on Flickr Main ECU module - bought for fault finding a speedo fault (turned out to be damaged cabling) tested by substitution and works. Check numbers as I believe these changed on later models. just dropped the oil on my very much abused bike (separate thread), a lot of water condensation in it as expected.
Will running cheap mineral car oil for around 100 miles cause any issues? I want to use it as a flush before changing again to a decent motorcycle spec oil?

Just been blocking the exhaust holes on the AIS, and ran into an issue on the last one (number 4) - the stub thing the AIS pipe attaches to is broken, half if it is on the engine and the other half is still fastened to the AIS pipe.
Will chemical metal block the remnants of the hole and stand the exhaust temperature?

Now the bike is coming together nicely, I've been wondering about installing a multi-gauge if I can get hold of one. Anyone use one and recommend it (or not) cheers.

The project bike I bought has a duff fuel gauge. Thought I'd take a look whilst waiting for other bits to arrive. The green connector on the tank appears open circuit, guessing this should give a resistance? Still waiting for workshop manual to arrive, so could someone let me know the resistance range so I can check the rest of the wiring/ gauge assembly?

Thought I'd drop an intro on here as well as the welcome section.
I've just bought myself a cheap (£950) Fazer 1000 on a 52 plate with highish mileage (48000) taken a bit of a gamble as it's a non-runner - fuel pump is definitely not operating, so I'm hoping it's a simple fix.
I'm having to have the bike transported (as it's not running) so am getting impatient awaiting it's arrival, hopefully Wednesday.
I'm sure I'll be asking lots of probably silly questions on here as I go through the bike.

Hi all,
I've Dave from Preston, Lancs. I'm 48, and have had bikes all my life. Recently bought a Mk2 triumph speed triple that I just can't get along with, so it has to go, so......
I've just bought a 2002 Fazer 1000 as a project - non-runner with a suspected pump fault - I'm waiting for it to be delivered later this week before eagerly getting the spanners out.
Other bikes in the shed are a 1982 Yamaha 350LC that I've owned since 1991 and a 1996 Honda CB1000 (owned for about 12 years) that is in the process of been ripped apart for a big overhaul (hole through frame rail).
