You can have a belly pan and crash mushrooms together if you use Yamaha stuff. It's what I have on mine. Not cheap but an exact colour match and looks awsome IMO

I've just got my bike back running after a 2 year lay up due to a back problem. Beleive me when i say the carb jets will be blocked. I had my carbs stripped and you couldn't even see daylight through some of the jets. The mechanic totally stripped and cleaned the carbs and balanced them. Trying to run the bike in that state also killed the spark plugs so a new set sorted that. The carbs were cleaned with good old carb cleaner and an air line and after all the work done it feels as good if not better than new. Good luck with yours :)

Well, just a little update for you. The garage did an excellent job. Stripped the carbs and cleaned them, balanced the carbs, put in 4 new plugs and added fual addative. Think it was wurth?! But this stuff is suppossed to be the dogs danglies for cleaning the fuel system. Lots better than redex etc. Anyway, the bike now revs so freely it feels better than new. Big shout out to PGH in devon.

The carbs are being stripped and cleaned tomorrow. I'm going to get a new set of plugs for it too. The bike was only laid up as I explained due to my back issue. I now have a nice tatanium frame in my spine and am ready to ride again. Beleive me, it won't have that kind of lay up again! ;) Oh and i know it's running on 3 cylinders as it doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder at the moment!  :lol

FZS600 Fazer / problems after a lay up!
« on: 04 August 2013, 04:54:19 pm »
Hi all. I have had my 2002 fazer layed up for about 18 months, due to a spine op and recovery. It is having real problems starting and cuts out when i come to a stop. It is also running on 3 cylinders. I'm pretty sure the main issue is the carbs all bunged up and it is going in the garage to be done on tuesday to have them done. Any other things i need to be checking? Thanks

Ha ha, yep. Deffo a long one! Riding from devon to cambridge for a 40th with wifey on the back. It'll be a test for the back anyway...... just taken the fazer out for a quick run. Seems to change between a twin and a triple at the moment. Roll one tuesday when they do the carbs. Just a little ride of 18 miles in rush hour traffic to nurse it to the garage! :eek

Introduction / Howdy All!

Hi everyone. Just a quick introduction to everyone :) . I am just getting back on my 2002 Fazer600 after 1 1/2 years off it due to a spinal operation. It's running terribly at the moment and can't even kepp it on idle! Carbs are shot after the lay up! I've got it booked in next week to get the carbs cleaned if i can ride it there! ( it cut's out every time i stop ) Hopefully get it sorted as I'm due to do a 600 miler on the 10th! lol
