« on: 11 February 2018, 01:58:17 pm »
I have had my MT09 now for nearly 3 years and loved it, just so light to flick about and loads of fun. Anyway as I am doing more touring now than day to day ridding decided the MT09 with it's 14 ltr tank was no longer ideal so chopped it for this new unreg MT09 Tracer. Picked it up yesterday and in glorious sunshine decided to have a run to get the feel of her, first impressions are favourable. Seating position is better as it is a more upright ride so easier on my dodgy knees. An hour into my ride it started to snow. We never get snow in this part of France so bugger that headed for home. I have a few bits and pieces from my 09 I removed to fit on the Tracer. I am sure Tracey and me are going to enjoy many happy times together. So far for this year planned tours are end of March down to the Costa Blanca (weather window dependent) as I have to either go around the Pyrenees or under them Col de Someport tunnel. In May a group of us from are meeting up in Cochem in Germany and in August heading over to Ireland for the Armoy & UGP road races, Plan is the week between the two races is to do part of the Wild Atlantic Way Roll on Spring

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / Honda GB Racing
« on: 21 July 2017, 02:04:46 pm »

Honda Racing GB have decided to not compete in the Armoy & UGP road races.
I think it is more down to Guy Martin refusing to ride the bike as it is uncompetitive and is a widow maker.
Let's face it the new SP2 Fire Blade has spat John McGuinness of during practice at the NW200 this year and John is lucky to be still with us. Guy Martin has binned it twice at least and has been openly ctitical about the bike.

« on: 19 June 2017, 09:21:04 am »

The speed is slowing down again.
Why does this happen I am a few forums bikes and others but this has to be the slowest of the lot,
Below is a post from the MT09/FZ09 forum which I have just been on. It is as fast as fu-k any chance we can change.
Oh must admit the MT09/FZ09 forum has not got the craic or banter that we have here. I am not moaning as I enjoy being on here , just asking the question.

Hi Everyone. I just moved the site to a new faster server with SSD drives. Let me know if you notice a difference in the site speed or if you notice any bugs

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / I.O.M TT fatalities
« on: 10 June 2017, 12:00:11 am »

Really is time this was stopped

I think that is one of the most over used statements in Motor cycle sport
They have died doing something they enjoyed doing, usually followed by RIP.
It is time this event was stopped or else made a hell of a lot safer.
There have been 5 fatalities this year the death rate is going up year on year.
No doubt I will get hammered for this. I have been a road race fan since I was 14 and still go to at least one or two road races a year in N Ireland. I have never been to the TT as one it is to bloody expensive to get there and two, to what see the riders go past every 17 minutes for 5 laps. No thanks. My last road race was the Tandragee 100 last year. There was a young gun called Malaci Mitchell Thomas, a new wonder kid on the block. He was flying and everyone was raving about him. I thought to myself then, son you are quick but take your time and learn the track and your craft as well. He was killed at the NW200 about a month later.

The death toll in this year’s TT Races which finished on Friday is just one fewer than the worst year for the event, which was 1970, when there were six fatalities. Enough is enough

General / Fly United airlines, hope you can fight
« on: 27 April 2017, 07:56:17 am »
Anyone  on here if travelling with United airlines would be willing to vacate there seat if asked as the flight has been over booked??
Just picture the scene a 747 or some other type large aircraft over that is booked.
Today United airlines have decided to increase the compensation package for passengers who do willing give up  their seat.
The new package will be $10,000!!!! so instead of having one disgruntled passenger kicking and screaming when being dragged off a flight, you will now have perhaps about 300+ passengers kicking each other to pieces fighting to get off.
No doubt about it Ryanair or Easy Jet will follow there lead hahahaha.

So here we are first road race of the season and we already have one fatality. Sadly Dario Connci a 38 year Italian has died. Dario was a regular at the Tandragee 100 this being his 6th visit. He was taken out by another competitor who came off thankfully the other rider was not badly injured.
R.I.P  Dario. I have been a road race fan since I was a kid but every year I grow to dislike the sport. Let's hope this is the last fatality this season.

An English man , a Scotsman and an Irishman want to go to the Olympic games but don't have tickets. As they are walking to the venue they pass a building site.
The Englishman spots a scaffolding pole picks it up and goes to entrance , He says George pole vault and they let him in. The Scotsman sees a grating  and says Jimmy discus, the Irishman sees a roll of barbed wire and says Shemaus, fencing

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / SW France to Northern Costa Blanca
« on: 19 March 2017, 08:00:51 pm »

Just back from a 10 day trip from were I live SW France to the Costa Blanca were I used to live. Why did I ever move away from Spain.
Anyway did my best to avoid the Toll roads and Motorways. Broke the run up down and back with an overnight stop in a cheap hostel **star used booking.com €25.00 basic but comfortable and clean. Decent enough bar /restaurant in Monreal del Campo about 100kms south of Zaragoza. Had a bit of a thirst on me so had 6 pints and a large whiskey to take to bed that and my menu del Dia € 24.00.
Had good dry and warm weather all the way down,. Great biking roads N 330 is a cracker s is the N284. Only day it rained was the Monday but seeing as I was having a day away from the bike with my mate did not bother me.
I had a couple of days getting re familiar again with the Bernia Mountains at the back of Benissa and Jalon valley. I love it up there and with the tourist not about one could misbehave.
Came back over the Pyrenees passing through Formigal and Panitcosa ski resorts again weather amazing. The only down side with the MT09 is the fuel tank size at 14 litres it is a pain as if you are giving it some you can be looking for a petrol station every 100 mils or so. This is my 3rd long haul tour in a year. Sw France to N Ireland last April, Sw France to N  Wales in September and this run. Not bad for an old fart at 68.

General / Looks as if Spring isaround the corner
« on: 18 February 2017, 10:46:03 am »
Yesterday SW France , 5 mins from were I live. Hopefully Spring is just around the corner it was 16 degrees mid afternoon but still gets bloody cold at night. Lovely countryside by me but the roads are crap for biking, covered in mud with the farmers or else gravel. I did find one decent road with some good twisties  so rode the length of it to check it out. Had a blast but Jaysus am I rusty or what, had best get the L Plates out as a guy on a Bergman pushed me all the way lol.

Shall we say all in the lew600fazer house hold has been strained for sometime now. I came back from the Dechetterie (dump) and my wonderful wife has a face on her like well smacked arse.
She kicks off , I am sick of you getting speeding tickets, from now on I will do the driving. 58kph in a 50 zone 26th January, so €90 fine.
Must admit I have had one or two since I left the UK for Spain and latterly France. So I gets to thinking and asks her check the Calendar was the 26th a Thursday ?  yes she says. well I took a fit of laughing, what's so fucking funny she says. Well you can deal with this one as I was out on my bike on that Thursday, Yes I fucking know you where!!!, Check the ticket dear you were in Bordeaux and it is the car reg number on the ticket not the bike.
It is worth paying the fine because the look on her face was a picture,  :lol

General / Made me laugh
« on: 03 February 2017, 09:36:31 am »
Because of his stupidity and clumsiness, his Reception Class teacher was always yelling at him, "You're driving me crazy, Tyrone!"

One day, Tyrone's mother came to school to check on how he was doing. The teacher told his mother honestly, that her son was simply a disaster, getting very low marks, and that she had never seen such a stupid boy in her entire teaching career.

The mother was so shocked at the feedback that she withdrew her son from school, moved out of London and relocated to Birmingham.

Twenty-five years later, the teacher was diagnosed with an almost incurable cardiac disease. All the doctors strongly advised her to have open heart surgery, but there was only one surgeon in Britain who could perform the operation and he was located at the Birmingham Clinic. Left with no other options, the teacher decided to have the operation which, was successful.

When she came round after surgery she saw a handsome young doctor smiling down at her. She wanted to thank him, but could not talk. Her face started to turn blue, she raised her hand, trying to tell him  something but quickly died. The doctor was shocked; wondering what could possibly have gone  wrong so suddenly. Then he turned around and saw our friend Tyrone, a cleaner in the Clinic, who had unplugged the life-support equipment in order to connect his vacuum cleaner.

........ if you thought for one moment that Tyrone had become a heart-surgeon, there is a high likelihood that you voted for Jeremy Corbyn and he believes in fairies as well !!
