Had a leaky Fork seal so changed that at the weekend and changed the fork oil while I was at it.

Playing with exhaust cans I cut this dented can down only 12 inches long 😆 still got a BS stamp officer 😉
It isn't too loud I only tried it in my garage & it does have a hole to fit a baffle
Stuff everything I've always got my bike :)

Fitted oxford hot grips yesterday. Hid wiring and went for a test ride with summer gloves today. Impressed, why did I wait so long before doing this mod. They are very hot at 100 percent had to turn down. Superglue supplied didn't hold left grip so tried  Araldite.

Made a start on getting rid of all the anodized blue stuff a previous owner thought would look good. Fuel cap bolts replaced for stainless, bar ends changed to silver, blue paint wire brushed off the radiator guard bolts, blue lever sleeves removed, and valve caps replaced with standard black plastic ones. Top yoke nut, oil filler cap, screen and screen bolts on order, then just the sprocket nuts to change. So if anyones got a blue boxeye and wants a colour co-ordinated screen and other bits for it, Ill have some to get shut of soon
Everyone has to believe in something. I believe Ill have another beer

Got the "Red Reviver" out of hibernation-air in tyres, usual checks of oil, coolant etc.Fresh fuel in tank & off out on dry roads,9 degrees air temp, sunshine & blue sky.
Got that willing motor spinning and showed a few cages my rear tyre. To quote "Boston": Its more than a feeling! Happy days are here again :lol

Finally got round to changing the front sprocket nut , while I was there I swapped sprocket for a 16tooth , feels great hasn't lost much oomph at all and sits alot more happily on the main roads , just feels more smooth all round really ,

Sun , blue sky , lovin it

Not quite "What've you done..." so much as "what've you paid some other bugger to do?" - Got the bike back from being serviced, courtesy of Motofix-  in Otley  As this was it's first since arriving at  Wharfe Mansions  I  figured a proper mechanic (Cheers Baldrick!)  ought to have a go rather than an amateur Focwit such as meself. anyway, pleased to find that barring a dragging rear brake necessitating a strip and rebuild of the caliper, and new pads all round, he felt the bike was in fine order. Valve clearances all bang on at 17K.
Happy days... :)

....and today, got round to putting handguards on. I used an old  pair of Suzuki V-Strom guards, that had originally been on my TDM 850. (when I bought them the guy on parts at Colin Appleyards in Keighley said that they sell dozens and they end up on any number of different bikes). They had previously been "modified"  for the TDM, ie a chunk carefully cut out of the RH guard to accommodate the brake fluid reservoir, but were a pretty much straight fit onto the Fazer.  Look pretty good too as - from the front at least - the guards seem to follow the lines of the "foxeye" fairing & lights, and the TDM cutaway was perfect for the Fazer, unsurprisingly I suppose given the cross-usage of components. Mr Wharfe's big box of nuts and bolts yielded the necessary slightly longer clutch - and brake- lever bolts for the guards to be attached to.
Am now kicking myself for not doing this three months ago when I first bought the bike, instead suffering cold flippers on my 6.30 AM commute, even with the heated grips. D'oh!

got my new speedo sender fitted (after soldering some broke wires on so called 'full working order' unit)
then realised i had a loose header pipe and in turn realised how corroded my exhaust studs and bolts were
new studs bolts and ex gaskets ordered so looks like im on the chop this weekend (any excuse to ride before i sell)
if you read this sat morning and live in north there might be a small meetup in burnley tesco on sat at around 12ish
if your interested i will be letting youtube user rookierider know on his page
infact if your in the northwest add myself and rookie as a meetup at somepoint is on the cards - especially if you motovlog

Spent most of the day in the garage working on my little red beast:*Engine oil and filter changed
*Repaired the piece that broke off my front mudguard and attached the fender extender that took 3 fecking weeks to arrive
*Adjusted and lubed the chain
*Gave it a good wash
*Took it out for a good blast in the gorgeous sunshine, with lovely dry roads.

It's just a shame I had to go home and cook dinner, but I can't complain too much as it was TACO night 🌮
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 😭🏍😭

All brake calipers serviced, degreased, then regreased.
Clutch cable properly adjusted both ends, and lubed.
Bearings in sprocket cover lubed up with white grease.
A chunk of chain lube/oil/shite about the size of a tennis ball removed from under the sprocket cover.
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.

I would be kicking up a right stink if a garage took over a week to do what you're having done, all of that work can be done in a day. Or do they not have any of the parts in stock?

Its one man band who works in his home workshop, and MOTs through at another garage, he's waiting on air filter, I don't mind as he's cheap.

hoped prayed and carried on as i had to get to preston
suddenly only running on 3 cylinders - carry on and pray
on way back sudden bad noise pull over loose chain - strange
load of tools purchased later i am pointed out the link had broken and not a split link either a rivet link
no correct replacement and no recovery (thought i did) so i used the incorrect split link with no side plate only a clip to hold it (never do this)
27 miles later bad noise chain flings link and all comes to a sudden skidding stop still 20 miles to go - no phone signal get walking,
phone a friend who is waiting on the 400 quid in my pocket to buy a little bike- one seat alhambra later a fazer back at home
(please note i have no fairings or mirrors which ment it fit in the seat)
one pissed of bloke today got to go strip my head again

Im working out how to "Modernise" my 1998 FZS, i have a ugly big grab/hand rail on it, and want the newer one thats smaller for the later FZS 600, does these fit bolt on?
