Its an easy mod that works well but thou calipers are pricey. I use a Thunderace torque arm !

I'm going to swap mine for a thou one when I get the chance, I've got the shock I just need the time.

I have had a thou one on my 600" with 600 spring," for some 6 years now It works a treat and is totally forgettable. most inexpensive mod I ever did Think the details are one of my old posts!
I have an R6 shox on my thou. Its good albeit slightly soft ,but not as good as the former

I have a r6 one and have toured two up at around 22 stone!  It is softer than ideal but much better than the standard one. I would try the 600 spring option .Should be able to get a 600 spring for not much!

My gen 1 600 works fine with a thou shock and 600 spring .When I tried it on my thou it was far to hard for my weight "10 stone". It may be OK two up but I didn't try it as such

I got sidetracked .i'm gona take the forks of again next week .and have another go .I'll report back thanks all!
Come to do the seized forks adjuster yesterday.
I removed offending fork leg and drained oil. I removed the  adjuster boss no probs. Observed that the adguster screw is brass so heat is not going to do much. Tried it didn't . Tried impact screwdriver no go .well stuck!  Desperation now! I cut a slot all around the screwhead approx 3 mil in . Then broke away the surrounding alloy ring. I was intending to get at the screwhead with mini mole grips! I was surprised to see that the adjuster srcew is in two parts slotted together! I removed the seized outer screw and the inner brass screw adgusts fine.
Not having or at that point realising I would need a new one. I decided to see if all was well when I refilled with oil. No leaks but no click adjustment now so just counted the turns compared to the other side. I fitted a rubber blanking gromet over the recessed screwhead and all seems to be well. I will probs fit a new adjuster when the messing mood is on me again. Not much oil came out of the boss so I don't think an issue to do in situe ! Progably a good idea to locktite the brass screw if you are faced with this problem.

I have a foxeye 02 and an 95 thou .  I now only use the thou 2 up, for which it is brill. I have similar vario screens on both , for some reason the 600  has better airodynamics, fuel consumption is similar at similar speeds.

My thou never starts as well as the 600 .always runs lumpy for a few seconds, but no big deal!

Just an update on the misfire.  Just started up the bike after not touching it for two weeks.  Started perfectly I have done a few short test rides since and still ok . Only thing I did after the last investigation session was to re'route the outer plugs leads slightly. Time will tell " if it stays ok"
Hope so as I was not looking forward to taking the carbs of.

My own experience of fitting a "race" can before doing the ivan carb mod . Souded great but lost low to mid  power !.Jet kit brought the power back
I was advised by the sites  well known Fazer thou expert, that this would happen and it did!

I fitted the 2 plugs from the 600, started up fine then within minutes ,I lost no 4, This would seem conclusive that no 4 is flooding constantly and no 1 intermittently.  This will have to wait till i'm in a better state of mind to thake the carbs of,

Don't fit a race can before you do the carbs.

I tried some kawasaki plug  caps " from the temporary coil"  on  1 and 4 , did not make any difference ! I took of the side panel , lots of terminal blocks there! pulled every one apart and cleaned +WD'd result no difference!  Not died since though!
I hung a plug on both no1&4 , massive spark on both. Two thoughs now , either these two plugs break down under load.
Or two cyclinders are flooding intermittently (Mikes suggestion area ), I'm going to try two plugs from my 600 tomorrow , not quite the same heat range , but might be interesting

Ok ta I thought you meant .The "what I thought of as the CDI unit" I'll have a geek behind the side panel tomorrow. i think the RAC man checked it though.  Uneven running fault seem to be affecting 1+4  both these plugs are showing signs of fouling

I took tank of again , I have thoroughly cleaned the white block. I also found a bunch of 4 terminal blocks in a large plastic cover . one of these had green pins , cleaned all these and  WD'd . Bike starts every time now but , again pick up is not clean!  Can't get my head round how last night it ran 30 miles perfectly. Might even treat it to new plugs as the last ones only a month ago were e bay cheepos possibly NJK copies. clutching at straws now. whats an ignitor ? re A faulty Ignitor would effect 2 or 4 cylinders. (Unfazed)
