Hello
« on: 14 June 2020, 01:27:50 pm »
Hi, recently returned to bikes after children and work commitments started to allow again. Had an FZS600 years ago and after test riding one I remembered why... Long story short, now I have another  :) .

I do have some concerns about ticking noise noticed since purchased. I know they can be noisy and is part of the character but it's been too long to remember what is normal, bike only at 17k miles so has been sat around a while in its life. Any advice appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, at 17K its most likley to be the camchain tensioner waiting to go to the next notch. How long has it been noisy?

They are not normally noisy but can get a bit rattly just before it clicks out. There are ways to "force it" but when was the last time the oil was changed? Maybe give it a change and flush it as this can help stop the tensioner getting stuck.

Whatever you do, do not consider replacing it with a manual one.
Another ex-Fazer rider that is a foccer again
