Fazer remote start
« on: 30 May 2015, 10:29:07 am »
I bought a motorcycle alarm with remote start, and I need some help installing it. Alarm is already installed and its working, but remote start wire (blue) I dont know where to connect it. It supposes to go to starter relay of my bike, but I dont know to which wire i should connect it. Starter relay has 4 wires, 2 red ones, and 1 red/white and 1 blue/white. Has anyone done it? Help please  :)

Use the blue/white wire, having said that I would not wire cheap alarm to my ignition. Because of the cheap components I would not trust it, It can fry your starter realy or the starter motor...

It would all depends on how it's wired up.
Just don't see the point of it. :rolleyes

Nor do I but out of curiosity, surely it wouldn't start unless bike's in neutral as normal, and if a cold day, you'd need the choke? Guessing it wouldn't put on the choke for you?  :)

If you wire to to the starter button circuit it would not turn over in gear, but if you wire it to the starter relay all the safety circuits are bypassed and it will turn over in gear.

Think I'll just stick to going out and looking over the bike in morning before I start it up, foc knows what's happened since you last put it away and then start it up unchecked :( :thumbdown

my old divvy was wired up in an odd way, the starter button would still turn the starter motor even with the ignition off and even in gear, it wouldn't start but it wasnt clever.

my partners nephew was sat on it pretending he was riding it and hit the starter and scared the lift out of him, luckily he didn't push it long enough to come off the sidestand!

Remote control unit is broken, so thats the reason why it wont start remotly. I always put my fazer on center stand, so there is no danger of broken fairings :-)
