Fitted a Fenda Extender. Rode my new Fazer from Sheffield to back home in East Lothian. A bit wet around Newcastle but lovely further north. Did a few spurts of "camchain tensioner maintenance' (I believe that's the phrase)  :) I will be doing more of it, now and again. Discovered an annoying buzz/vibration between 5900 & 6500 revs, which equates to cuising at 70 (plus or minus). Solution: cruise at 80  :lol   Got home and washed my bike.

Finally a few hours of dry weather  :sun Only had to go near the start button and it started up saying - "What the FOC --- where have you been"
I think we both needed that  ;)
The western lawns at Sharp hall need cutting but that will just have to wait

Not many bends. It was mainly A1 just to get back home.

Sorry I misunderstood your post  :o (beer ) I now see that its new for you and you rode it home (in the rain at that ) --- its the last owner that never had any bends on his route.

Swapped the hooked front sprocket for a new one and the chain makes a *lot* less noise now! Still was a bugger of a job trying to get the rear axle back through the wheel and took multiple attemps :(

Also changed the oil and filter, found I had insufficient oil in the 5l container, so had to buy some more, then discovered that somehow I'd overfilled it, so had to drain some out and refill until the level was right!

Went out for a sunset ride - lots of wheat harvesting going on making loads of dust float across the road. Yes the first one was helped by photoshop but that is what was happening across the path.

Followed Sharpies lead and went for a ride in the country. Was a good little blat but my harrowing fuel consumption lead to an early return home

Changed the oil and filter after discovering that I'd last done it 8000 miles ago.
Filthy black muck out, nice fresh pink 10W40 in. I don't suppose it'll make the rattly old thing sound any quieter, but it'll hopefully keep it going until I can find a replacement. (Engine, that is... no plans to get rid of the Fazer.)

Had to properly say goodbye to my beautiful red beast by signing the paperwork as I had full conformation that it was a complete write off after the crash I had on 3rd of July due to some FOCCING asshole pulling out in front of me and slamming his brakes on. I have now bought a new bike however it's not a  :faz  as I couldn't afford the insurance for the FZS1000 as all my no claims bonuses are on hold until he finally admits fault, I can't see why he shouldn't as the is video evidence and 3 witness statements all stating he was driving like a twat any way long story short I bought a 2000 reg Honda VFR800FI (pre VTEC).
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 😭🏍😭

I was quite lucky as no bones broken but was it a fair bit of pain though. Loving the new bike but can't help feel a bit like I'm cheating on Yamaha as I've only really owned Yamaha's until now (I don't count the fling I had with a cheap Chinese 125 as it was in for repairs more than I actually got to ride it  :lol )
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 😭🏍😭

Not today, but last week, went to Scotland on the bike.

Stayed with family in Nairn. Did Bealach Na Ba, 2 distilleries (Glen Morangie, Dornoch Firth, and Glen Moray, Elgin), Kinlochewe Service Station (Applecross Pass??) Loch Ness, Fort Augustus and Urquhart Castle, Bruar Falls, the A9 roadworks and some sh*** weather.
The only thing I regret  was not getting to Dunnet Head and JOG. Still, a reason to go again.

Arse fine, neck ache a killer, riding south on the A1 yesterday I've never driven so far leaning 30' into a crosswind......

Thats a place I haven't been since early April 1979. At the time we followed the snow plough up in a hired MK2 Escort  :)

Handling felt a bit off on the way to my brother’s, so checked the tyre pressures when I got there… found the rear roasting hot and at 15 psi thanks to a small nail in the PR3 I fitted a month ago. :(
Shouldn’t complain I suppose, it’s the first puncture I’ve had since 2005 and I finally made use of the Crafty Plugger kit I’ve been carrying for 4 years. Great bit of kit.

Throttle got a little snatchy last week at Donington, so I set to and balanced the throttle bodies. Then I thought Id better check out the front brake system, so had the calipers off and pads out, cleaned and greased where reqd. Gave it a waft over with ACF50
