Took the car for MoT
So midway through he calls to his partner about changing a wiper blade there and then to save me a 'fail' and trip to Halfords.   Okay I go along with it.

The car passes with indicator bulb advisories and he gives me the MoT certificate...... along with refusal cert due to faulty wiper blade  :eek

Not a problem but ...... :rolleyes
Yes I think they have too, has happened to me too, I sat in the waiting room and he came in and said I have a brake bulb out and do I want him to pop one in for £3.99, yes I says and the same as you I get given a pass certificate and also a fail for the brake light being out.

Same happened to wifes car, as the car has actually failed at the time of the test then I think they have to issue a fail certificate.

crazy, but, i suppose it's good for their records to show they aren't giving passes away

Sounds like a twat of a tester to me, mine failed (potentially) on a rear brake light bulb and the tester just told me to go fetch one while he carried on the test, he fitted it, car passed.

Had the same tester for three years now and last time him and a new lad had a bet on it passing/failing, new lad was amazed it sailed through even passing latest emission test even though it didn't need to being an import.

Remove ISIS then get the hell out of the middle east would be my first suggestion, if another dictator takes control, so be it, not our problem. Providing the oil keeps flowing I couldn't give a dam what goes on in the country.

Take it off, guestimate the new setting and refit it, hardly a long job (if you still have your centre stand)

Cheers Joebloggs, I did think about this but it seems a bit of a faff, especially if your out and about and wanted to go two up or something.

Set the preload for two up and leave it there, speed your steering up when your solo and ready for any passengers you may take

I think if our governments learned to take care of our own business instead of interfering in other countries politics we'd be in a lot better place.

We were all shocked and disgusted at Mondays terror attack but how many shed a tear when our armed forces, under direction of Bush and Blair, directly or indirectly killed thousands every day. Of course we did it in the name of peace so thats OK, like we can indiscriminately kill men women and children without fear of repercussion as we had the moral high ground.

Remember the first night of shock and awe, sixty five cruise missiles slammed into Baghdad and the ensuing carnage was broadcast to the work like some sick fireworks display, I can't begin to imagine the terror of that bombardment, and that was just the start. That battle is still being fought on the streets of Iraqi, women and children still paying the price of our governments actions and we wonder why we are now spending untold millions on security to try to prevent terrorist attacks that we may have asked for.

Read Blowback by Chalmers Johnson, He wrote the book before 9/11 then wrote a 2nd edition including the twin towers attack.

If you're throwing the old peg away then get hold of it with a set of grips before trying to remove the bolt, at least that way you wont damage the hanger trying to get the peg off

OAP's that can't detect that their car is rolling backwards towards yours at traffic lights and then stick their fingers up when you blast the horn to warn them before they smash the front of your car up.

Foccin idiots.

As an OAP myself I agree entirely-perhaps some form of periodic driving capability test for us senior citizens?. I would add however that there are many other drivers of all age groups who cannot hold their vehicle stationary at eg traffic lights on an incline-after all this is classed as a serious error in the driving test which would be an automatic fail.
My other pet hates are the continued use of mobiles & other distracting devices in vehicle-even by so called "professional" drivers like LGV & PSV. I beleive the only deterrent would be an automatic 12 month disqualification. Similarly for use of alcohol/drugs. If the politicians are so concerned about RTCs why dont they do something positive to ease the carnage on the roads.
And dont get me started on F****n Brexit & General Elections :eek

If only but it would have been a different story if she'd hot her.............

I had a very near miss where I ended up calming down the driver that tried to wipe me out.

This old driver decided to overtake a car on the inside of a 90 degree bend, luckily for me I saw it coming, I had to sit on the white line through the turn, lean enough to get round but miss both cars coming head on. Not a situation you want to find yourself in. I stopped, turned around and found this old man stood on the side of the road shaking so violently I figured there was no point having a go, he new he'd come so close to taking me out through his lack of observation.

Bet he never overtook on that bend again

I don't get the hate the public show towards the murderers, sure I expect it from family and friends but from the general public? It's not the correct response! To be repulsed by the crime, of course, any crimes directed at children are disgusting, but surely the anger is for those close to the victim!

I have no real thoughts on his death, he spent most of his life behind bars, punishment enough, I don't know, I just hope he came to loathe himself and thought about those poor kids every time he saw his refection in the mirror.

As for the death penalty, I think history has proven how unreliable beyond reasonable doubt can be.

Had a bad experience in hospital. Had an ultrasonic scan on my testicles to check for a tumour, was laid there with a doc rubbing gel on my balls when a bunch of student nurses walked in.... Not very embarrassing

KBC VR1 helmet, great looking lid and comfortable but get above 90 and it would shake your head so violently you'd get blurred vision
