It's an OK deal. The phone is available PAYG for about £100 and essentially a nobbled Galaxy SII, so at this point I think they're probably trying to ditch whatever stock they have left.
As with everything, if you're happy with the phone and the level of service it's a good deal.

I saw this, too. Can't work out how he spent three days down there before anyone noticed him...

I dropped my 1200 bandit at 0 mph.......Badly broken leg, both bones, 4.5hrs op to insert a nail, 3months off work (6 grand out of pocket), broke brake lever, broke indicator, scuff on engine cover and "2x"2 scuff on fairing....Total=£6,385....I would say you were bloody lucky friend. I'm still off work but i still feel sorry for you as we all love our bikes. I sold my immaculate K3 1200 bandit and bought a nice little 600 Fazer......Result I guess.....
How'd you manage that? You go under it?

I'd only bother if I was planning on doing burnouts or sommat...

You can get a top box that attaches to the pillion grab rails, but if you want panniers as well you need the Givi top box and pannier kit which is a) expensive and b) a PITA because you have to bolt it on to the underseat pipe mounts which involves taking apart half the back of the bike!
Interesting; I've been looking for this. Top-box would be handy but I don't want a permanent rack. Got any links?

Normally when I see someone being a prat, it's in an Audi nowadays...

Gutted for you, mate. But could be worse, you could have cracked your face instead of the fairing...

The Stockwell one, which is five minutes down the road from me is still open. Get in.

The 2007+ models have also lost about 20 horses for the standard version.

Way I've always seen it, 70mph is the fastest speed a 75 year old man with bad eyes and shit reactions can drive a car with shitty brakes.
Since I'm in my 20s, have decent eyesight and ride a motorcycle that has better brakes than a twenty year old metro, the safety threshold is a little higher for me.
Somewhere around 120, say? ;-)

I did do, but the part numbers I had didn't return anything. Going to the actual page for the bike didn't show the parts up in the list, either.

Sommat by Daytona... Mine haven't leaked despite the punishment they've been given.

Regarding the original post: Bad luck mate. Having said that, I'm crazy careful in London. There's a copper, a speed camera or a bus pulling out every hundred metres, always get out of the M25 if I want to tie one on - There's a stretch of road on my commute home with about four cameras on it - a progressive pace going home would lose me my licence in fifteen minutes...
As for the TV licence - We're running standalone home theatre PCs with all the content coming from a fileserver I have upstairs, that does streaming of iPlayer stuff if you want it, but mostly plays things I've downloaded. I've had the TV licence person come over and confirm we're not receiving any broadcasts and don't have to pay.

In the end I've ordered from a dealer local to my dad, so he can just go and pick them up. Came to about £50, which is about the cheapest I could find online once you factor in delivery. Webb's of Lincoln if anyone's interested.
A.J. Sutton is brilliant, bookmarked for future reference. Identifying the parts by the diagrams is how I got the parts numbers in the first place so it wasn't too painful...
Thanks all!

Wemoto doesn't return any parts when I give the OEM number (Which I used Yamaha's online parts catalogue to get). Fowlers won't give you prices online, you've got to call them with the VIN, engine and parts numbers, apparently - seems a bit odd to me, but hey.
Fowlers is probably a no-goer, since my main mission is to get my Dad back into bikes. Iif I have him dicking around with part numbers and crawling on the floor for the block number he'll just get pissed off, whereas if I can just get a box of bits sent over he can spanner away happily.

Over here I'm marvelling at people on 'Busas, roaring on the freeway over 90:
* No helmet * No gloves * Shorts * Vest * Flip-flops
Michigan recently got rid of their helmet laws, as the fat Harley riders tell me with glee. While coming off is never a joke, sliding on your arse, ruining your bike's finish and destroying a couple hundred quids worth of clothing is infinitely preferable to leaving your muscles scraped on the road and getting skin grafts on your face.
Mental.

I live in London (normally, like...) and I think pretty much every one of my friends is a non-UK-born type.
Italians Saffers French Norwegians Belgians Australians Germans Brazilians Polish
And really, they make the place brilliant. The world is a much better place when people aren't all the same.

Just put together my parts list so's I can get my dad to replace the exhaust manifold studs, gaskets and nuts on Bess, and the official Yamaha parts total comes to €62.00 on cmsnl.com (One of the few places that seem to sell by Yam parts number.)
4x Gaskets @ €4.50 each 8x Studs @ €2.50 each 8x Nuts @ €3.00 each (WTF?)
Seems a bit out of whack, frankly. Does anyone know of a website that will show you equivalent non-yamaha parts, because close to 90 EUR seems a bit stiff for maybe a hundred grams of metal... Or better yet, does anyone know anyone who sells the Yam parts cheaper?

You must be young and/or in a shite postcode. Mine would've been about £450 in E11 (East London, almost as bad as it gets before they stop giving quotes) but dropped to £135 when I moved. 29 yrs old, 0ncd, test passed that morning
When you "moved" ;-) 29, male, Brixton... Parked on the street. I was honest about it because I thought there was a fair to medium chance someone would nick her and didn't want to have to bullshit my was into a claim.

I'll have a nose about, but I'm not too fussed; he's got a hacksaw and a grinding wheel, innit? Get some nice shiny brass nuts on 'em and it's a proper job.
As for the crush-gaskets, is aluminium or copper better, and why?

Counts yourselves lucky you're not a new rider. Cheapest I found was eBike at £550 TPFT. Still insured on it, to bring up the no-claims while I'm away.

OK, I've been here a month now and I'm frigging bored.
* Everyone rides Harleys. Everyone thinks they're great * Everyone is retarded * I tried to rent a bike. All they had were Harleys. I didn't bother. * It's getting to the point where I might bother. * I need a Michigan bike license to buy a bike * To get a Michigan bike license I need a Michigan car license, since the bike is an entitlement on a car license * Everyone is trying to sell me something * Can't go to the pub, because there are no pubs * Can't get bladdered because you need a car to get anywhere * If you *do* go to a bar there's always a lad in there, so it costs a dollar to take a piss.
Miss Blighty, miss my bike, and I miss people with a properly developed sense of proportion.
What's been going on 'round here, then?
