General / Sports Personality of the Year
« on: 26 November 2012, 10:57:24 pm »
Just announced the shortlist.
Obviously becoming the first brit in 12 years to get on the podium in motogp isn't good enough to get on the list.
Bad luck Cal it was just the wrong year to do it. Maybe win a race next year and you'll get in there.

Check!
Right up to the pegs, which was my first time through a flood on a bike.
Just wish the cop who drove past me 300 meters up the road was polite enough to warn me about the flooded road around the corner.

FZS600 Fazer / Fuel Gauge Accuracy
« on: 13 October 2012, 08:11:57 pm »
Ran the bike on the low fuel light for about 10 miles today and then filled up expecting to put a lot in, but only squeezed in 19 litres.
Which suggests 3 litres left which given i had ridden 275 miles meant i had another 50 odd miles which means i was getting well over 300 miles to a tank.
Is the fuel gauge that inaccurate?
What do you think?

General / Sparky Help Please
« on: 07 September 2012, 04:50:34 pm »
Just moved house and its riddled with 12v halogen bulbs, so switching some to LED's instead.
I have 3 undercounter lights which i've got G4 LED replacement bulbs (the ones with 2 pins as connectors) into and although they work they flicker and fluctuate. Do i need to replace the transformer with an LED transformer?
Many Thanks

General / I'm Back - not that you lot care!
« on: 04 September 2012, 10:03:16 pm »
I'm not an extreme poster but you may of noticed i had gone quiet for a while.
Well the reason was because of moving AND the complete and utter uselessness that is Virgin Media's moving team.
It all started ok, i phoned the team to tell them i was moving "no problem sir would you like to keep your land line number"
"Yes please"
"ok i'll arrange everything and even call BT about the line rental" Sorted says i.
Well no.
I won't bore you with the in and outs, but 8 different individuels, 3 unanswered phone message left on there system, an incalculable amount of broken promises and lies, several hours spent calling them, 2 different dates for connection, one official complaint (which turned out not be true just notes on the system one of the lies), lots of we will email you the details hello i don't have internet that what i'm trying to connect, a new number despite me requesting the old one in the first place,  one soon to be written complaint letter to the CEO and Chairman and OFCOM, later i am now back on line. :'(
Virgin are good unless you want to move.
SO hello, whats been going on?

Love Nick

FZS600 Fazer / Micron Can - Jetting?
« on: 12 June 2012, 10:44:14 pm »
Hi All

I am now the lucky owner of a Mircon can just bought from Rangrally.
I asked him but he doesn't know as it was already on his bike when hi bought it, but would i need to do any fiddling of the carbs to use this? Everything else is standard.
Many thanks

General / Camera SD card wiped???
« on: 28 May 2012, 09:56:38 am »
Bought an Sd card on Tuesday for the camera as my wife had the other one and she's away. Anyway took lots of photo of the torch relay with my 2 year so that she has some memories  of it.
Yesterday my wife was snapping away and suddenly the camera couldn't read the card and nor can our laptop. :'( :'(
So my question to Tori and others is there any way these photos can be recovered off the memory card.
Needless to say i'm pretty pissed off and don't hold out much hope, but i know hard disc can be recovered.
Can someone help?

FZS600 Fazer / Front sprocket Nut again - Sorry
« on: 30 April 2012, 07:22:53 pm »
Just cleaned and inspected my front sprocket, a quick measure and it appears to be 9 mm or so thick, should it be 12mm??
Its locked on with a bendy washer thingy and has about 1-2 mm of spare thread showing.
Probably original chain and sprockets.
02 fzs600 by the way.
Cheers for the help.

Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) / Ducati GP12
« on: 29 April 2012, 12:04:02 pm »
So Hayden has put the GP12 onto third position for the race today, admitedly 1.0 sec off pole, and Rossi is the last prototype bike in 13th position, 3.5 seconds behind.
And i got slagged off for saying its not the bike its the rider, now i feel vindicated.
Don't get me wrong i am a fan of Rossi, but even Parrish is quoted in this months fast bikes as saying he is not the rider he once was.

Agruments start now.....

General / Silverstone motoGP advice
« on: 21 February 2012, 10:27:00 pm »
Myself and a couple of mates are going to the above event for qualifying day. We have roaming grandstand tickets. :D
Just a few questions really.
Has anyone been to the new circuit? Which is the best grand stand to watch from?
What time do the gates open? Silverstone haven't published this yet but would like a heads up guesstimate.
Any other useful advice would be really appreciated.
Many thanks

Everyones a comedian nowadays.
Even the paramedic who was unable to resuscitate Whitney couldn't avoid the odd gag when he radioed dispatch and said...
"It's Houston, we have a problem".

FZS600 Fazer / Back fire
« on: 11 October 2011, 07:44:13 pm »
Haven't used the bike for a couple of weeks started up fine on sunday didn't rev well until the stale fuel had been used, used it a couple of hours later no problems.
Started up today, no choke fired first time but backfired for the first time i've had, a couple of years now.
Is this nothing to worry about or the precurser to something else? Never had a problem before.
02 model.
cheers
Nick
